Brazilian Grand Prix 2011, Interlagos Circuit - Race 19/19

"Felipe Massa advises Rubens Barrichello to retire from Formula 1"

I lol'd at this Autosport headline.

Tomorrow I fully expect to see a corresponding "Rubens Barrichello advises Felipe Massa to retire from Formula 1" headline :p

The current Ferrari whipping boy tells the former Ferrari whipping boy to retire. Lol.

Perhaps Massa see's Rubens as filling a seat he will be in shortly?

*sigh*

Massa advised Barrichello to quit rather than run as a pay driver. And also said that no matter what his friend decides, he'd support his decision.

"He raced for the best teams in F1. I haven't advised him to quit because I feel he is old or something like that. But today in F1 there are 12 teams, and five or six are asking for money to give a seat. I think this is absurd.

"My opinion, which I told him, is that I can't see Barrichello searching for sponsors to race after all he had achieved in F1.

"I told him to quit and to use this last race to have a proper ending.

“But I know he will do what he thinks is the best for him and, as a friend, I will support him and hoping for the best for him."
But of course, you both know all this because you wouldn't dream of merely reading the headline and projecting from there, right?

Right?

Oh.

Wow, this must surely be the first time ever that someone has made false assumptions based on a badly worded headline?

Quick, JRS, you must write to Autosport imediately!

Or you could just chill, its not the end of the world?

Good choices.

Its a shame that every BBC comment thread on their articles has become a tedious "NO TO SKY" fest though.

Unfortunately not, people seem to make a habit of it.

Quick, JRS, you must write to Autosport imediately!

Why? Autosport wrote the article perfectly clearly. If people had read beyond the headline, they'd have known what the score was. But once again, the opportunity to get a dig in at Massa was sat there like a shining beacon, far too tempting to ignore ;)

Or you could just chill, its not the end of the world?

No, it isn't. But it is getting pretty irritating.

usual suspects trolling Massa.....wonder when the mods will step in as they do when it's another driver.....should name this forum the "Lewis fanclub".

It was 3 posts of light hearted jabs at Massa and Rubens, where the hell did Lewis come in?

:( Last race, I'm hoping for a Lewis victory as usual.

Just arrived in Sao Paulo after 2 weeks in rio, can't wait for this! Anyone else been to Interlagos before?

Sooooo jealous, take plenty of pics and share them with us please. :)
