Brazilian Grand Prix 2012, São Paulo - Race 20/20

Anyone else feel a a Maldonado was a bit hard done by with his penalty... He wasn't trying to avoid it he just didn't see the red light... Probably easy to miss when entering the pits and trying to concentrate on 101 other things... I'm not saying he wasn't at fault but all drivers are human and prone to mistakes and it was somewhat out of the blue. Why make it any more difficult for them than it has to be for them? Why couldn't Williams have been informed and they let him know over the radio?

You ain't seen nothing yet.

Tomorrow, the conspiracy theorists will be out in full force. Even though (as far as I know), its never happened, people will swear blind that Massa is trying to take out his team-mate's championship rival.

I am actually hoping that something controversial does happen tomorrow, if only to see the resulting name-calling and drama in this forum. It'll be fun to watch. :D

:D it'll make winter in here all the more fun!

Weight checking is there to stop teams cheating. The FIA cannot tell if the driver didn't stop just because he didn't see it or if he did it deliberately because he knew he was running under weight. Whilst it probably was just a mistake, the penalty has to be harsh enough to ensure the driver adhere to the testing requirements.

Personally I think the penalty was too lenient. He only got a repremand. The 10 place grid drop is because of the 3 strikes rule.

I get the feeling that the weight checking needs to take less time. At the moment they have to stop the engine and go into a separate garage. Why not have it just before the first pit box, within the pitlane itself? So they drive on, keep engine on, stop for a few seconds and continue.

It might've been said already here, but just give the FIA guy at the light a flag to wave and get the drivers attention, all commentators on TV have said it's hard to see the lights coming up over the hill at Brazil. A tiny cost for something that'll easily work.

Oh and can't wait for the race!

BTCC style.

I'm looking forward to the race but not looking forward to the season ending as it's been such a brilliant year.

I think this year fizzled right out. It's not really been a battle between the main two, more a fight to see how many points Mclaren can stop Vettel scoring as Alonso doesn't have the tools/speed to do anything about it. A bit of a non event then really.

Then again next year could be far worse. I think it was pretty exciting upto the mid point and there have been far too few wet races.

Exactly, a lot of the excitement came due to the track conditions. I can see Vettel absolutely dominating in that RB next year. McLaren may well come with some speed next year, but I would be shocked if their driver line up could do anything with it. I can't see Ferrari being up there.

Wow you guys are never happy! For the first half of the season people were complaining it was to random. But now its settled down apparently the randomness was exciting and the less random is boring?

Make your minds up :p

Love that McLaren, have the scaletrix version of it because it has that stupid extra wing on the engine cover :D (need to dig it out to see if it has MSc's helmet like the Benetton it races against)

Don't confuse it with the 1995 MP4/10, which ran with a mid-wing for much of the season.
