Brazilian Grand Prix 2012, São Paulo - Race 20/20

What are the stats for Alonso to win? Does he have to come first and Vettel come 4th or below?

If so then Alonso can't win unless Massa plays a vital role coming in the top 3 which will never happen.

A long as vettle wins the drivers championship i'll be happy.

Well you going to be unhappy on sunday :)

How Alonso can claim a third World Championship in Brazil:

- By finishing first with Vettel fifth or lower
- By finishing second with Vettel eighth or lower
- By finishing third with Vettel 10th or lower

Alonso needs to score 14 pts more than Vettel to win the championship. He is 13 pts behind but if he scores 13 more than Vettel they draw in pts and Vettel wins the championsip due to more wins.

1st - 25 pts
2nd - 18 pts
3rd - 15pts
4th - 12pts
5th - 10pts
6th - 8pts
7th - 6pts
8th - 4 pts
9th - 2pts
10th - 1pt

If Vettel DNF then Alonso needs a 3rd to win.
If Vettel scores 1 pt then Alonso needs a 3rd to win.
If Vettel scores 2 pts Alonso needs to come 2nd.
If Vettel scores 4 pts then Alonso needs a 2nd to win.
If Vettel scores 6 pts then Alonso needs a 1st to win.
If Vettel scores 8pts then Alonso needs a 1st to win.
If Vettel scores 10pts then Alonso needs a 1st to win.
If Vettel scores 12pts then Alonso cannot win.

Hope this helps. :)

Yep, I was just about to post the same thing. Red Bull will be strong as usual and Vettel probably wont finish below 4th bar any mechanical issues.

Grats, Vettel.

Still, I'd like to be proven wrong :P

Can't see Alonso winning here so he will need a Seb DNF.

Don't really matter everyone knows Alonso is better than Seb regardless of titles ;)

I agree guys, Vettel does need a DNF here...

In the most likely scenario either...

1) He takes himself out (spins off) (bad weather? :D)
2) His Play Doh Alternator fails
3) Massa Kamikaze
4) Webber Kamikaze
5) Grosjean 1st lap shenannigans.

It's possible. :D
