Thought Nicola was going to grab that after his good first sector, but Lewis did a nice middle sector, to just grab pole.

First ever Lewis pole here?

Pole in 2012 as well.

Am I the only one that does not understand why Damon Hill is employed by Sky? The guy adds nothing to the commentry.

It was the same as the first run though, Nico probably taking too much tire life in S1, Hamilton saving a little tire for S2 where it's more important. In both runs he pretty much blew Nico away in S2 more than making up for the slower S1. Nico needed to go a touch slower in S1 to get a better S2 but didn't learn from all the previous runs, and it's happened in a lot of races tbh.

Crofty kept banging on about Hamilton working the tires harder despite over 4 years with Nico as a team mate consistently showing higher pace AND better tire life. Crofty still pushing a completely ridiculous, completely false idea of Hamilton ripping up tires that has been around since 2007 and has basically never been true. Everyone has a race where they push tires too hard, but Hamilton has mostly shown great tire usage over the past 4-5 years.

Wet race, Rosberg off at the first corner, Hamilton cruise to victory, and all to play for in the final race.

Or the fun version: Rosberg deliberately crashes into Hamilton, ending both their races and as a penalty Rosberg is forced to sit out the final race.

How would you ever prove something was deliberate?

The penalty of accidentally rear ending someone isn't sitting out a race.

Personally don't think Rosberg actually has it in him to deliberately take someone out, in the same way that senna, prost, Schumacher etc.

That's without even considering what the likely outcome would be in this age of everyone complaining about any incident that happens.

The vilification and hatred is strong.
Is it because you would support any british driver in hamilton's situation, or are you ardent hamilton supporters?

These threads become less interesting for the amount of crashes people are wishing upon the drivers.

Just watched qualifying again. Rosberg has a really bad final sector which is actually really short.

Unless the -0.024 split was against Hamilton's first lap (which would make sense as they traded a tenth in the first and middle sectors), they were even going into that sector.

I am praying for rain, just for some action for once.

I also hope Rosberg crashes, hope Verstappen piles into him at the first corner. His home GP is Monoco, not DE.

Still, good to see Mercedes dominate, technologically perfect engineering from them as usual.
