Breaking Bad Season 4

Hank's a very smart and perceptive dude masquerading as a clown. I'd be VERY surprised if he doesn't have strong suspicions about Walt. Probably my favourite character on the show tbh. Tiebreak between him and Walt.

So chances are someone's gonna die tonight tbh. Would love to start a betting pool but I think that's a bannable offence! :p My money would be on either Mike or Hank. Until last week I was certain it'd be Gus, but we still haven't discovered the dark secret of his past in Chile, and I don't think they'd get rid of him before revealing it.

Unless the secret is he's a scion of an immensely rich/powerful/psychotic (or all three) family, in which case offing him would just create a new antagonist for season 5. /speculation

Started watching this last night, got the first season from a friend and i must say it is very good so far. Although i am only on the 3rd episode i imagine that it will get a lot better.

I hope they give us a clue as to how Gus knew.

Well it's probably not the first time he's had to deal with people trying to kill him. He obviously knew that Walt would want to strike first because that's how he is. A chemist making a bomb sounds pretty logical.

Possible spoiler about what happens on tonight's episode, don't read if you don't want to know.

Interview with Giancarlo Esposito (Gus) on the AV Club, and at one point he says:
Last week I was walking down the street in New York; I was a wreck and late for an appointment, and I had to stop in my tracks because I felt Gustavo Fring creeping up behind me, and I said to myself, “Uh-uh, Gus. We’re on hiatus. Take a hike, this is Giancarlo.
Now, I might be reading too much into the word "hiatus" here, but given that they wrapped filming before this season even started airing, I'd say this implies that Gus is coming back next season.

**************SPOILERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR***************

What exactly does this ending mean? With the flower in Walter's back yard that poisoned the kid? Not quite sure what they're trying to tell us.

Edit* Just thought about it a bit and maybe Walter did actually poison the kid to convince Jessy it was Gus to get him on his side.

You're a bit slow :p

Yeah of course Walt manipulated Jesse. If you remember the start of episode 12 Walt spins the gun on the table whilst wondering what to do, he does this until it points at the flower. And then, a plan forms...

That's the sort of the detail that makes me love Breaking Bad, easily the best tv series in years.

Mmm don't even remember that. :p

Still don't see how you would have known that he used this random flower from episode 12 until you had watched episode 13, so I don't think I'm being that slow really.

No you wouldn't know, but as soon as you see the end of final episode it *clicks* or at least it did for me. :p

That scene.

HERE BE SPOILERS!

so I don't think I'm being that slow really.

Yes and no, honestly it clicked instantly at the end of ep13 for me, because the scene with Jesse revealing the info about the plant was moments before them showing the plant at the end - in Walt's backyard.

It is very subtle, but also extremely obvious when you make the connection between those two scenes. Add in that scene from episode 12 (with the spinning gun) and it makes even more sense! Walt is a maniac, even more so that even I comprehended.

Comments on the finale... Epic! My jaw dropped when Gus walked out. That was so wonderfully crafted.:p
