Breaking Bad Season 4

That scene with Walt spinning the gun was immense, awesome television right there. (I do wonder how long they spent shooting it, ha).

I agree with the above, there has to be a message or sign of sorts there.

If you tried to pitch this series to big shot tv execs, they'd most likely question it and give you a hard time. Someone somewhere out there was willing to give this show a shot.

Except...they wouldn't really. HBO has been making shows exactly like this for the best part of 20 years. It might be difficult to get it on cable TV, but as you have probably noticed a lot of the swearing and violence has been toned down from the first series.

AMC were the network who took a chance on Mad Men when HBO and Showtime passed on it. It'd be difficult to get a show like this on ABC or NBC, but each broadcasting corporation is interested in the different things.

If it weren't for the success of a show like The Sopranos or The Wire then this show wouldn't exist. In fact, it's now a lot easier to pitch a show like this successfully because there's more networks than ever before and there's a track record that these kinds of TV shows - one which are both cinematic, yet exploit the medium of TV for long, narrative driven stories - being really, REALLY successful.

The theory going around is that Walt poisoned Brock. The scene with him spinning the gun stops with him looking at a plant that would cause the flu like symptoms. I don't think Walt poisoned him but hey.

But Jessie's lucky cig was gone which caused him to go a bit crazy.

And Walt had zero contact with Jessie other than being pushed and then got cattle-prodded.

I don't believe Walt did it.

The theorists say the Saul's fat dude lifted it off him during the pat down.

I dont buy it either, but it has been left open to interpretation

Oh Lord.

Didn't clock there was another episode. Just finished watching it like one would enjoy a fine wine. :D

With the pat down theory I don't think the actual time frame works out for how soon the kid gets ill and when Jesse gets the pat down.

I think Walt said that the poison makes people ill after 2 or 3 days, then they progressively get worse showing no types of obvious symptoms.

On the other hand with breaking bad having massive twists, and what walt did to jane in the past season......I woukdn't put it past him.

My own beliefs is that Walt didn't do it, not when he has a baby.

He didn't use the ricin in the theory, he used one of the plants from his garden. Leading to a scene with jessie finding the ricin.

Just to reiterate, I don't think it goes down this way. :)

He killed Jane, or rather didn't save her, as she was destroying Jesse's life. Everyone he's killed has been to protect someone and none of them has been innocent.

If so, then when did he get Jesse's fag?

And if Gus knew all along about the Ricin then he really had balls of steel when he invited Jesse in for dinner just after they made it.

but that would be why it was a one pot meal, to poison him jess would have to poison himself.

Spoilers:

There was an interesting theory posted on IMDB that the reason Gus walked away from car with bomb was that Walt's glasses were bugged. Gus heard Walt say to go closer to car. Walt also got a brand new pair of glasses that we didn't see who delivered them and the last shot of the episode was Walt's glasses.

I'm not convinced, but interesting theory...

That'd be one of the worst plot devices in history. Making stuff happen off screen like that, without good cause or purpose, would completely break the reality of the show.

RE the Brock getting poisoned thing. It has to be ricin because to use anything else would be, frankly, insulting given the way they've made it go missing.
