US: Breaking Bad Season 5 Part II - The finale.

Whats everyone's perception of the pace from the show? As Clipsey mentioned 3 episodes left and only now starting to pickup..I swear BB picked up at an intense pace during seasons 1-4 (then again I haven't re-watched since first viewing)

Unless im being reallllly picky :o

I suppose it depends how you watched the previous episodes. A lot of people that say that the pace has slowed have got into the show a little late and watched it all in a decent big lump on iTunes/Netflix/Lovefilm/download. Now that they have to wait a week between episodes it does perceive to alter the pacing of the show.

This. I watched S1-5a in barely 2 weeks. Now 5b is making it seem like years are passing :(

yeah good point which is why in a few months i plan to watch it all over again, this time start to finish with no long breaks

The woman who plays the head teacher is beautiful!

I think you might be a few seasons late with that one... might be advisable not to read this thread unless you want everything spoiled.

Also for those wondering how they are goijg to fit everything in with 3 eps, bsg did a year timeshift at the end of season 2 to great effect....it can work if done right and its possibly whats going to happen.

£110 but after seeing it I just had to have it. :D

Anyone else a bit disappointed that Walt fell for the camera phone trick, then stayed on the phone with Jesse all the way to the site?

He's usually one step ahead and I just felt it was too obvious a trap for him to fall into.

A bit like when Dexter started making mistakes that go against everything he was supposed to live by in series one…

I don't really have an issue with this pace. Maybe cause I've been watching it on a weekly basis since season two, but I definitely don't think the second half of season five has been particularly slow. In fact, I feel that they're cramming so much into the episodes that by the time we get to the end they feel longer than they actually are. Which is a good thing.

He was in a panic. He is usually 1 step ahead, but this time Hank and Jesse were able to get a step ahead of him. Yes, staying on the phone the whole time was convenient, but he was trying to talk Jesse down from burning all his money - or so he thought.

Yes, but a panic brought on by not seeing through a deception that someone as smart as him should have seen through.

But, look at what he had to go on...

Saul had just visited the car-wash and told him that Huell was missing. He then gets the pic of the money in the barrell, followed immediately by the phonecall from Jesse which details how he tracked the location of the money using Huell which led to the rental company that used GPS in their vehicles.

Now, given time to analyse that Walt would probably have realised that a rental company wouldn't just offer up GPS data without law enforcement involvement, but he doesn't have time to analyse exactly what is happening. The deception was so good and revolved around the 1 thing that would instantly cause Walt to react like that, that it was far from disappointing for me. In fact, conversely had he somehow sensed he was leading them to the actual location ahead of his realisation in the desert I would have been disappointed that they had somehow made him totally infallible. Yes he is a very smart guy, who thinking rationally would have seen it coming - but at the point in the characters development he is led as much by emotion as rationale! And this is what Hank and Jesse (and Gomez) were counting on.
