Brendan Rodgers sacked - If you're happy and you know it KLOPP your hands !!!

That's not success, that's unrealistic expectations. As people have said its relative, He deserves credit for the season that we played the best football Liverpool fans have seen for more many, many years.

Exactly, now it's supposedly easy if you have a team with Sturridge, Sterling and Suarez. The same Sturridge he was laughed an almost universally for buying. He had them playing exciting, attractive football. The sort of scorelines and matches fans always pretend they want to see. Yet somehow this was luck and despite him. What utter ****. If it was that easy you have to wonder why more clubs with the deficit in budget Liverpool have to the top 4 don't do it all the time.

He came within a game of pulling off the best League win in the premiership considering the comparative resources and squad depth, while playing football recent United, Arsenal and Chelsea teams only dream about. Yet this was in spite of him? Well really the top 4 should sack their managers, the teams can run themselves. :D

Clearly Klopp is going to win the league for the next 5 years if a complete **** wit can almost luck into a title by luckily having all the pieces fall in place for him.

No he couldn't maintain it and had lost his way, probably the right time to go considering they now have a great appointment but it's laughable that it now taints what was such a superb achievement and success that year.

Ungrateful ****s tbh. Klopp won't get as near.

I love the way everyone was saying that Klopp was a very good manager and suddenly he's at Liverpool and he's suddenly not so great or everyone suddenly criticising Liverpool. To be honest it smells of envy and jealousy as there seem to be quite a few fans who would have liked him at their club.

****ing hell rofl, Rodgers doesn't get credit for improving massively on what previous manager did and then also doesn't get credit because the following managers improved slightly on his success? That was a good laugh

Hilarious bias when it comes to assessing who is good or isn't, or do you 'call it like you see it', like you somehow saw Fabregas getting an assist in Spain's three finals

Considering the 'style' he tried to impose on the team it's clear that the year coming 2nd wasn't much of anything to do with Rodgers. If you have Suarez, Sterling and Sturridge on the pitch you might say for instance, lets play possession but if you have the chance to break by all means.... then those three break forward at crazy speed every 8 seconds. They played a style Rodgers doesn't teach, doesn't intend and hasn't remotely come close to with other players in the side.

As for his success at Swansea, Martinez took over a league one side iirc, became champions, brought players on a shoe string budget, built a team that came was it 7th in the championship before he moved on to Wigan. Rodgers took over a prebuilt team and took the next step, then got 11th in the prem league with largely Martinez's team and style. When Rodgers left Swansea both managers after him did better. I regard that much like Mourinho winning the first title with Chelsea though he did change their style over time it would have taken a genuine retard to not win at least one league title after Ranieri left, Ranieri would 100% of won the title that next year had he stayed.

Without Suarez there isn't a chance Rodgers would have come 2nd or played the style of football that 'happened' that year, imho. Personally I see a manager as successful if he improves the team he has. Any team can have a freak finish when you get very few injuries, a couple of insane years for players and a lot of luck. The team he has left, I can't think of any players he's improved obviously, only regression of multiple players.

He has final say on buys, people make a huge deal about a transfer committee while ignoring that EVERY other team in the world has a group of scouts who find players for managers to have a look at. It's how football runs but not called a committee people don't freak out about it. Likewise how many top teams give little to no say to the manager? Barca, Real, Bayern.

That he didn't win any of the other cups as well, it's entirely NOT unrealistic to get into another cup final or win one. ARsenal came VERY close to losing to Hull, then thrashed Stoke. Is it really unreasonable expectations to expect Liverpool to be capable of winning one of the cups considering who got into the finals? With the top teams having not cared about the Carling cup for years and the FA cup is falling to the wayside now, Liverpool being just outside the top four should have had both cups as a very realistic target.

Dalglish won one of those cups in his last season as Liverpool manager- was that a success?

Personally I'll take winning something playing ****e over some decent looking football

I can understand when players, managers and clubs prioritise winning. Esp managers, who live or die by results.

I'm a neutral, so perhaps I just "don't get it", but as a fan, surely we have the luxury of not needing to prioritise winning over all else. For us it's entertainment, and there really is no concrete reward whichever team wins the league.

After all, when you say you're a fan, you mean of the team, the players, their football, I would imagine? If all that's important is winning, then you'd be a fan of their success; a fan of their trophies, which would be weird.

There's not even faintly reflected glory when a bunch of people you don't know and had no stake in accomplish something without your help. Now obviously you aren't just a fan of success or other people's trophies because 'Pool haven't won anything for a while and you're still a fan (this is actually a good thing, nobody likes a glory hunter).

So why, as a fan of football, of the players, club, perhaps their "ethos" - why is it better to win ugly than play well? Because none of us benefit in any way regardless of who wins the league, etc. And why would you stay a fan of a club that played ugly but kept winning? Surely that would get very boring.

Basically, I find it impossible to understand people who want "their" club to win ugly, rather than play well.

Yes they are, for a club of Liverpools stature for a manager to not win anything it's a failure. Pure and simple. And yes if he doesn't acheive his targets he will be gone after 3.

Rodgers isnt our manager and I only ever judged him by what he 'achieved' on the pitch

Explain to me how you have arrived at 'a club of Liverpools stature?

;)

not sure if BT sport are extracting the urine slightly. Programme coming up in the next half hour

The Manager
Brendan Rodgers and Roberto Martinez
Duration: 1hrs
Brendan Rodgers and Roberto Martinez discuss their approaches to management.

I think Klopp bouncing around with a beaming smile and holding the Premiership trophy above his head is something every football fan would love to see at the end of the season.

Could this be the most illegally streamed match on BT Sport this season?

I wouldnt be surprised !

Mind you BT Sport also has Chelsea v Liverpool live on Oct 31st too. To see Mourinho and his personality face off against Klopp and his personality in the league is just too good to miss.

Anyway, with Klopps first game in charge live and Chelsea v Liverpool live, I've actually been convinced to get BT Sport now lol

I'm enjoying BT sport.

Seems to be a fair amount on and if you like the UFC then it's great value.

People moan about the commentators however I would take the BT coverage over the ITV coverage with Adrian Chiles and crew any day.
