Brendan Rodgers sacked - If you're happy and you know it KLOPP your hands !!!

Jealousy is in the air :p

I wouldn't say he'll win the league during his tenure, I'd fully expect him to be challenging though in the next few years given he's given time and funds to get his project going.

I fully expect Liverpool to be a good team to watch for the neutral, his Dortmund teams were a joy to watch.

It's hard not to smile when you realise Klopp's the new Liverpool manager, isn't it?

He didn't really say anything that meaningful in his press conference but he still left you impressed. I've read a fair few journos comment on how had the whole room hanging on his every word like they've never seen before.

Is that him/Liverpool walking all over us from now on? :(

From now on? :p

Come join us, you know it's going to be fun

Exciting times. A funny German.... His English was much better than I expected too.

It's a very tough league, but it's hard to see him failing at anything.

some interesting snippets from Tony Barrett

*Klopp watched Benteke at Dortmund but did not pursue his interest because the forward appearing unsuited to pressing and harassing

*As his fitness returns, Sturridge will be expected to become the spearhead of Liverpool’s pressing game

*Klopp described Mignolet as a great goalkeeper. He is now expected to play a higher line whenever Liverpool press

*Klopp laid down the law to his #LFC players today. Style he intends to implement is non-negotiable & possession football is over.

*Klopp made it clear that he will not tolerate individuals veering away from his methods and demanded total obedience

You know what the biggest thing about Klopps appointment? He's brought back belief. Not that we're going to win the league, but it's a good feeling he's brought back and it's great.

It's easier to have belief in someone telling you how they will win you football games directly than someone telling you how their are names in envelopes and that he already believes a few of you suck, or a saying in latin, or how he is his own mentor(while stealing management ideas from every other manager).

Rodgers comes across like he has attended to many management seminars held by management 'guru' types. He talks a lot without saying anything at all. I can imagine the entire team cringing throughout every speech he gives to the team. Rather than instructing the defence how to improve and deal with different situations just telling them if they believe and try hard they'll improve.

All managers say some dumb stuff in the press, because humans tend to say dumb stuff all the time, but almost everything out of Rodgers comes across as cringe worthy and stupid.

I don't know what I think about this.. On one hand I don't like Liverpool, but the other Klopp is amongst my favourite people in football :( Guess I want Liverpool to do well now..

Not quick at all, these boards have been full of disdain for Rodgers for ages now.

Yes but we quickly forget some of the brilliant football we have had and fairly quickly resort to "hes a chump, never liked him!". Granted there has been a huge slice of dross too. :p

People are rather quick to badmouth Rodgers now.

No, he's been a joke since Swansea in terms of David Brent style management sayings/statements. People have been laughing loudly at the utter tripe he comes up with for at least three years. There is a reason people have made the David Brent comparison for years, not just the last week.

There aren't many people that would say yes to an all access documentary for their first year in charge at a new club, I would say almost the only people that would agree to it would be narcissists.

When you have Sterling, Suarez and Sturridge playing well and basically bursting forwards at every chance then you are going to get different football. It's clearly a style Rodgers doesn't train, prefer or chose long term, it's just something that 'happened' that one year. They were dismal before and dismal since.

Not convinced he was particularly good with Swansea either, a style and team put together by Martinez and Monk/Laudrup both appeared to do a better job with Swansea.

Personally I'll take winning something playing ****e over some decent looking football for a couple of months

That was for the American Market, they like that cheesey rubbish over there.

Huh of the 5 clubs he played for Liverpool is the one he has the least league appearances.

231 Leeds
201 Leicester
174 Coventry
59 Motherwell
55 Liverpool

That's why I don't ever really think of him as Liverpool.

Doh, my mistake. I thought you were talking about Robbie Fowler.

Even Fergie's worried about Klopp :p tbh will take a few seasons for him to get going anyway, especially with the current crop of players. I expect big signings i.e a few defenders that actually know what they're doing.
