Brendan Rodgers sacked - If you're happy and you know it KLOPP your hands !!!

Other than Brendan and Advocaat has there been any other high profile sackings? I'm sure the tabloids would have a field day with headlines involving Dick Rodgers A.N. Other to complete the dirty weekend :p

A draw away to Everton isn't exactly a bad result, but let's have it right it was coming.

The performance against Sion was the final nail in the coffin imo.

Not a surprise. It's been rumoured for a few days now that win, lose or draw, he was gone after todays game. He lost his way after the Utd defeat at Anfield last season and hasn't been able to recover.

I think Suarez was both the making and breaking of Rodgers. When he arrived at Liverpool he came with this set in stone way of playing - death by possession football. After a season of working with Suarez he ripped it up and built the most relentless attacking Liverpool side I've seen in my lifetime. Every manager we've had since has been compared to Benitez and I remember saying at the time that while I felt Benitez was the better manager, we'd have never came as close to winning the title 2 seasons ago had he been the manager - Rodgers was brave enough (maybe naïve enough) to cut loose and go for the kill every minute of every game and that, combined with the quality of our attacking players took us to challenging for the title.

Suarez's departure killed him though. Without Suarez he was no longer brave enough to play the way we did the season before (and being without Sturridge too we were incapable too) and he couldn't find another way of playing. There was a brief spell when we first started to play the 3-4-3 that he looked like he'd cracked it but slowly but surely teams started figuring out how to play against us and he couldn't adapt. Finally when Utd beat us he just lost the plot, changing system every game, playing players out of position and performances and results just fell of a cliff.

I can somewhat understand why the club gave him the start of this season as a final chance to turn things around but it was more in hope than expectation. We've started this season the same way we ended last - no system, no style of play, drab performances, relying on Coutinho to pinch wins for us.

Not surprised by this really. I've never rated Rodgers much and he's incredibly annoying too, especially when he spoke about Liverpool as a club, it was cringe stuff.

It now appears Liverpool have more or less got Klopp then. I'm very disappointed because I really like him and think Liverpool have enough money for him to make them a good side, perhaps not immediately, but over time.

I think Klopp could have done better though really, and gone somewhere with more financial power, but making Liverpool back into a force must be an attraction on its own, and they've a decent amount of money (but well short of the top level).

At least this will make Liverpool more likeable for me (if such a thing is possible :p), as Rodgers was really annoying. Klopp is a great guy.

Rodgers wore thin with me, even when we finished 2nd (which was a massive over-achievement IMO). Please make it Klopp. :D

*But at least he had character... :p God he ****** me off with that nonsense.

Koop heavy favourite along with de boar, it was coming for Rodgers tho as he couldn't get Liverpool consistently playing well

Mad day. Derby a bit grim. What happened afterwards a bit mad but not surprising. And now Liverpool want Klopp. Roll on Monday........
Tony Barrett confirming we want Klopp, please happen!

Unless the Klopp news has been leaked to throw everybody off the scent then it seems as good as done. There's been no "x will take over 1st team responsibilities until we appoint a successor" line out of the club and they've said they expect to have a new manager in time for the Spurs game.

There's been reports tonight that Rodgers fate was decided as long ago as the Utd game. The last few weeks have been used to talk to possible replacements and now's the perfect time tie up the details and give the new manager time to settle in before his first game.

Completely agree.
