Brendan Rodgers sacked - If you're happy and you know it KLOPP your hands !!!

Yup and The Independent, Mirror, Metro, Express amongst others. Been mentioned in the football press since last May.

Got a link to the Independent report? The others, like the Mail, are full of ****.

I've not read a single, reliable, report that's claimed that he wouldn't work in a set-up similar to Liverpool's. In fact just a few weeks ago his agent came out and said that Klopp preferred to work in a DoF type set-up.

edit: Sorry, his agent said this in the summer, it was only re-reported a few weeks ago but still.

People really are ridiculous over this stuff. Most people would like to work in an office with casual every day, bikini clad hotties and kittens playing in the office all day along with beer and no actual work... most people take the jobs they can get.

Klopp chose to be a football manager, he might have preferences, he might not, most statements to media are political or about not losing himself a chance at jobs which is why most managers aren't rude about most clubs because they may be looking for a job at that same club in the future. Liverpool manager would be a high paying job of a club with a large budget... he won't refuse the job because it's not the perfect job in the world, if people did that almost no one on earth would ever work.

DoF or wanting total control or anything else, it's all meaningless. Those offering the job get to decide what they offer and those asking for a job get to ask for what they want, and both have the option to turn the other down or choose to work within the limits the other person has laid out. Saying he'll turn this job because of that is daft.

Previous jobs, preferred roles, people act like if one manager has said he prefers total control there is no chance he'd take a job without it, twaddle.

Fact is most people entirely misread what roles occur at football clubs anyway. There is extremely few managers with 'total' control of who they buy. The majority get a large input but work with scouts employed by the club who obviously try and find players the club needs. Many players bought by many of the best managers in the world are players the manager never actively sent the club after in the first place, often never knew about till a scout or board member told them about the player.

You think Fergie knew every player the club bought and no one at the club found players and sold Fergie on buying them, cough, Bebe, same with all managers.

Barca, Real, Bayern don't offer managers like Guardiola, Mourinho, Ancelotti total control of who the club buys but fans act like most managers demand it.... what planet are you guys living on.

Gerard will spout something about wanting to be the manager soon, then the board will go and get Fabio Capello in and Liverpool will hopefully get relegated.....................

Yeah but on Football Manager you do and that's 105% realistic.

I think we'll end up with Ancelotti or someone else. Klopp doesn't appear to be in a hurry to find work and with Mourinho having a rough time and Guardiola yet to sign a contract at Bayern he could wait a few months and manage a team ready made to win things. I personally think he'll join Bayern in the summer :)

Couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke (I'm a saints fan)

His mouth continually wrote cheques that his results just didn't match I'm sure he will be back hopefully with Sunderland nd fingers crossed for Harry to get the Liverpool job

PS hands of RK liverpool it's time you looked elsewhere for your ready made success template.

We all know what you're trying to do. Hope it works too.

As I said last night, unless somebody is being deliberately misleading then it looks like Klopp's all but done. All the talk coming out is we want Klopp and Klopp wants the job too.

Klopp at Liverpool will be interesting if it happens. Still a huge club despite not winning anything recently. The potential is there, top budget, big brand, a lot of fans. He did a great job at Dortmund, the results speak for themselves. He just needs to be given time and support even if your not playing well or winning.

I hope he goes there, would prefer him over Ancelotti as i havent seen him in the PL. Similiar type of club dortmund and Liverpool as well, industrial cities. He's gonna be a good match for liverpool. cant wait for a Pool v Arsenal game..

I agree with some of the sentiments from Match of the Day last night, Rogers ended up with a team (where he just missed out on the title) where he basically had to manage the defenders into not conceding enough to win the league. He failed.

I could probably have managed that team and have it not win the league too.

His players got sold and he ended up with a team he had to manage and it wasn't working for him; and he couldn't get it to work for him.

I can see the DoF approach working for some managers, but if you come out and say "I don't want to work with player XXXXX" then your DoF signs them then you're put in a very difficult position.

we've offically made contact with his representatives now according to the latest BBC report - apparently he (Klopp) has spoken to Didi about us. Looking good, just dont want to get my hopes up until its all signed and sealed.

Thats not how a traditional DoF/Manager relationship works - and certainly not how Klopp worked at Dortmund by all accounts.

No different to a players agent saying he's keen on a move to get a better deal for the player.

Klopp may well want to manage us but at the same time he may be using us to find out whether the Bayern job will be available to try and get them to make a move for him.
