Got a similar issue with my BenQ X2420T 120hz gaming monitor. Might have to buy two of them to get the best effect out of it. The stand the monitor is on has a headphone hanger on the top of it and its very bulky, meaning I have to mount the LED strip right above it or it'll block most of the light. I'll see what its like later when it gets dark though and report back.

Just buy a new monitor.

mine arrived this morning and it is pretty good but the cable is too short so it cannot be routed behind the monitor so I need to buy an extension for it
Mine arrived today too, doesn't seem to be quite as effective as yours. Are all the LED lights on yours working as half mind seem to not be active, also did you take the strip off (not the adhesive strip to attach it as obviously that has to come off but the see through plastic strip on the top of the LED's) as I took that off and maybe I shouldn't have.

Depends on the back of your monitor. The guy who quoted has a samsung monitor by the looks of it so the stand is built into the base of the monitor. This means that nothing blocks the LED light or placement on the back of that monitor. On my BenQ XL2420T monitor, the stand is affixed to the centre of the monitor so I had to mount the LED above it. In my case, I'd need two kits to get the correct halo effect.

I've got the same problem I'm guessing, I'll probably just need to buy another. Got a dell Dell UltraSharp U2412M and that has the same sort of stand.

there is 6 LED's. The other half that appears to not be active, those are not LED's but resistors I think.
Do you use an extension cable? I bought one because the original cable was too short but the extension was causing some troubles with light blinking or not lighting at all so it had to go away.

I have my monitor on a corner desk and the monitor is about 1.5 feet from the corner of the two walls. Does anyone know if it will still be as effective compared to having the monitor flat against the wall?

Nah it's not in an extension but I bet they are resistors because when I looked at it they did have different writing next to the inactive ones. I am guessing it's fine anyway so going to keep it.
