Britain secures agreement to join Indo-Pacific trade bloc

Are you seriously suggesting this free trade deal is as pervasive as EU membership

Im not suggesting anything. I'm asking you to comment about two specific points that were highlighted as some of the most restrictive parts of being within the EU, which is why we needed to leave to give us the freedom to do what was best for us and not have anyone dictate to us. Something with all your squirming around, you still haven't addressed.
Are you also trying to suggest the UK should not enter any free trade deals as all will come with some compromises?

Now this revisionism at its finest! LMAO

Compromises [aka loss of "sovereignty"] is exactly what we said does happen with all trade agreements ! Hahaha. It was the Brexit side that said we could have our cake and eat it, without any compromises. Here's a reply just yesterday about a point that we wouldn't get a trade deal with the US if we didn't do want they wanted.

Of course we will. They can't tell us that we must not label our own produce as to it's origin, especially the produce that we sell in our own domestic market.

Compromise was not a word in the lexicon of the Leave EU campaign.

Anyway, enjoy your 0.08% boost over 10 yrs, try not to spend it all at once! LOL

The 0.8% of GDP thing keeps getting quoted - can anyone provide the actual source of this figure?
Here you go (they are our government's own estimates and it's 0.08% not 0.8%):

One also has to think about the environmental impact from trading much more with countries on the other side of the world.

I think you are struggling with the difference between a free trade deal and, as I said before, the horrors of EU membership - they are quite different.

When you say ‘brexit side’ who exactly do you mean? Can you share some examples where someone said that we would force one sided trade deals on the rest of the world?

There is currently no deal with the US so pointless debating hypotheticals.

Coming up with, having a say and voting on key rules and regulations as well as unfettered access and frictionless trade with 500 million of the richest people on the planet is not a horror. You will find that we will have much less sovereignty in CPTPP.

'Horrors'? The UK voted with the majority in most cases, only voting against EU laws 2% of the time since 1999. I'd like to see if there were any 'significant' things our vote was on the defeated side.

Anyhow, I think there are many from all sides that would go for one of the variants of Leave that was proposed, being in the single market. We did help create the thing after all.

All the non-white folk!!!11

Hang on...........

Haha but this nails it. Thankfully this period of the UK destroying itself for a laugh down the pub is going to end in 18 months and all the traitors will have to apologise and the colour purple will be banned and all toilet seats will have Farage’s face on them as is only right.

To be boring though, just like “Brexit benefits” the CPTPP membership “benefits” have not been mentioned once. I mean, surely there must be a list? Maybe my joking list of cheaper palm oil and Protons is the best shot at this? Surely I can’t be on the money just by joking because some brains have thought this through?? Surely?

Durian. I'm going to keep saying it. Prices of Durian will plummet. In the face of inflation it will become the new national dish.

If you haven’t been the butt of the classic south asian “trick a westerner into eating Durian” scam you haven’t lived :D

So, seeing the whetherspoon masses gagging on it as a brexit benefit will be entertaining.
