Does anyone else think this?

We are Chav culture pioneers

Our justice system is a joke

We are PC gone mad - No christmas cards in council offices so we dont offend anyone

We have a prime minister who is more concerned with appearing 'cool' and inviting rock stars to his house, than with actually running the country.

Ambulance drivers get stopped for speeding when ferrying sick patients and vital organs

So many people are just pointless, i.e all the lazy little morons in trakkies, 'jobseekers', pregnant mums @ school, your typical council estate family living off the system.

The acid test for me is when you can go out in Europe and have a meal outside a resturant in the street and enjoy the pleasent atmosphere on a warm sunny evening, can you imagine the same in the Uk? There would be gangs of chavs, *********, louts, people shouting and spitting, throwing bottles, being sick, and police sirens accompanying all this.

Plus we idolise complete and UTTER morons, like Jade goody, and the utterly repellent "posh" from the equally sickening "posh + becks" stageshow.

Finally our media is crazed, short sighted, dramatacist, hyped, and mosty full of BS.

Sigh, moan over, but sometimes it feels like the UK is a total HOLE.

Couldn't agree more, this country is a joke, and we wonder why the rest of Europe don't want us as part of 'proper Europe'. Ah whatever I don't know what i'm on about, all I know is this country is lousy, but hay, the whole world stinks too!

No, only if you go to the common places. You get what you pay for and there's lots of nice places around. Heck, I even had a good time in Bristol reently.

Why do we have to have one of these threads every 3.4 days. If you don't like it that much then leave. Leave the people who are happy in this country to themselves.
 
There are nice places and there are not so nice places. There are people like you've described in all walks of life, worse in most places. Britian isn't THAT bad, I personally don't enjoy living here, but i wouldn't call it a bad place to live, I feel pretty privaleged to have been brought up here.
 
I agree with most of that.

I'd move to Finland if I had citizenship and could be bothered to learn the language. Or perhaps Sweden.
 
I know you get violence in Germany and the Italian footie thugs, but they dont have this overwhelming subculture of burberry wearing, benefit sponging, losers.

The ignorance of your "average" young adult is shocking, and whats worse is that no one seeems to care.

People are happy to have lives dependant on their Giro day, and are narrow minded enough to not be concerned with anything other than there next packet of fags and bottle of Cider.
 
Of course everywhere else is so much better.

Like Germany with it's issues with racism, a stagnating economy and unaffordable health care.

Or France with it's disaffected youth and massive unemployment.

Perhaps the US with it's astronomical murder rate.

Everywhere has it's issues, it's jsut that you don't know about them. This country isn't that bad or you wouldn't have so many folks trying to move here.

The place isn't too bad where I live, mainly cos I know the chavs round here from primary school. The only thing which annoys me is getting the bus to work. Why do they feel the need to make as much noise as possible?

Perhaps it shows that people arent happy with the state of the country...

Tell him to get out if he doesnt like it is incredibly childish dont you think? If he doesnt like it, he should do something to change it.

Every country has its bad points and good points. You mentioned in another thread that you are hoping to move to either CA or Australia, you will find that there are negative points to be found in those places too. There is no such thing as the "perfect place" to live, you just have to make your choices and accept the rough with the smooth, whatever you decide.
