I did my last ever CFT 2 weeks ago. It's a bloody good feeling knowing that I won't have to waste another two hours of my life traipsing through fields :D

Will probably get away with only doing one PFT this year before I'm out. Not worried about it though as at my age you get a LOT of time for the run and only have to do a couple of press-ups and sit-ups.

Still more than chicks though hah. But I can't wait for that feeling either!

Nope I'm not, but there are loads from my unit on it from what I know.. out for 10 weeks or something?!

Not heard of that we are going for 7 weeks, a week in accomodation on the camp thats there and then probably 2/3 weeks out at a time then endex. Just done our prelim exercise so prep for it and found out I'm going on PT2 aswell two weeks after bavarian charger.

Treats.

And that's this years CFT out the way! God they're so boring! My legs are in clip now mind you..

Just done ours today, was up in warcop all week on matts camp...:(
the Warcop CFT route sucks!
quite stiff this evening, we didnt have a chance to stretch off properly...
not feeling as sore as i usually do post CFT though.

Hello chaps. Just reading a passage written for the BBC by my great uncle about his flight through France to Dunkirk during WW2 (he was a signalman). In the final line he mentions that he was given 14 days' CB...what's CB? It's probably massively obvious, and I'm guessing it's a disciplinary thing.

Thanks Arctine! So, he survived the utter chaos of retreat through France, multiple strafings by Stukas, the horrors of Dunkirk beach, he narrowly missed boarding the Lancastria just before it blew up killing 4,000 men, made it across the channel in a small boat only to be given a punishment! :)

Well, signed for my commitment bonus today, few grand in my back pocket will do nicely. I know if I was to be in for 8+ years I should wait, but as I'm planning on getting out in around 12 months, seems like the perfect time to take it :D.

Don't you have to pay back your commitment bonus if you don't see out your initial engagement?

Unless I've miss read your post. Its what my useless admin department told me.

Finally got my first posting which is hohne. Been told I should have asked for a main regt for faster promotion but too late now. Just need to stand out I guess.

I think you have to stay at least a year after taking it.

What you gonna do when you leave Ghosteh?

You can't get it till you've done your minimum engagement which is 4 years, you then have to serve another year once you receive it.

Assuming all goes to plan, I'll be working to get my CCNA & CCNP and possibly a few others, then look at some contractor work. As I've DV'd, I could potentially be looking at upwards of £350+ a day working on military contracts. There are guys working on £500+ a day who don't have qualifications, just the experience, and after working with them, I wonder what experience they actually have.. I won't leave for anything less than £40k/year though.

Fair play pal. I'm looking for an out too but I just haven't got the balls to pursue anything yet! I never thought I'd feel that way about leaving.

Another long summer in the sand. Does anyone ever get that freak-out feeling when they first get out here? Like "WTF AM I DOING HERE, SERIOUSLY!??". Time to hit the gym I think :D
