Track DRS
F1 will revert to using a single DRS zone at this weekend’s British Grand Prix, having used two in the last two races.

The zone will cover the whole of the Wellington Straight, the new stretch used for the first time last year which leads into Brooklands (turn six).

The activation point will give drivers the option of using DRS through the flat-out kink leading onto the straight.

The detection point will be shortly before the zone begins, on the entry to Village (turn three).

But the win hung on an equally stunning overtaking move on Button earlier on, diving audaciously down the inside into Turn One at the last possible moment. The two came very close to disaster, Button having a wobble as he noticed his team-mate was there and took avoiding action.

The 2008 British Grand Prix
Hamilton was brief on the subject of this race, his first and so far only win in his home grand prix, describing it as "wicked". Another way of looking at it is as one of the greatest wet-weather performances in F1 history.

Practice One - Webber tops but stops at soggy Silverstone

We have been trying to sort it out all week, and we finally got some hardware this morning which allowed us to do so and you wouldn't believe the crap we have been through this morning.
Still its up now and that's the main thing.

Gascogne is saying their weather forecast is looking much better tomorrow and Sunday and that there is no point running as it's so wet it would be at least SC or red flag in the race.

Im really liking twitter, never got the point of it. But do now, not that I post much.

I blame fia rather than the teams. Why bother compromising the car all season for rain and why run in the rain, when they know ita going to be SC or red flag.
Fia need to grow some testicals and say well if it rains you can tip toe around in first gear at 5miles an hour. Oh and they need to get rid of parc ferme if it's dry qauli and a wet race start. So they can change set up.
Then we would see teams trying.
 
Apparently Horner and Whitmarsh are having a heated debate in the press conference regarding another change in off throttle blown diffusers.

Edit: James Allen just said that the Renault engines are still using 50% off throttle..

..which ties in with what people said in FP2, some had noticed that RBR could be heard blowing their diffuser as in previous races.

Any links to any of this, I know people have been saying that. But they would be disqualified.
 
What a joke, Renault and mercedes given special dispensation.

Wtf, I didn't think my opinion of FIA could get any lower, but it seems they were still pretty high and have fallen over a cliff.
 
Right from what I'm seeing on twitter, as engine specs where frozen in 2009, Renault where using 50% back then, mercedes an undisclosed or at the new limit and Ferrari on 10%.

What a total mess up. Why did they try banning it in the first place.
Hey for all you saying it was cheap and easy and could be done instantly, do you still think that.
If they are to say 10% make it 10% or you exist your exhaust somewhere else.
