British Grand Prix 2014, Silverstone - Race 9/19

So Rosberg has ovetaken someone under the red flag that was for massa in P1 on the corner before where massa was.

Rumours of no penalty, he went to the stewards and said oh i didn't mean it.

Do these rules even matter? If you dont mean it then its ok we will let you off.

The rules are fine, if you check the FIA website and highlight everything they've just put "all rules must in any circumstance possible... screw Hamilton", they just change the colour of the text to match the background.... totally legal :p

It's amazing how often Hamilton seems to get screwed and others tend to get away. I still say the majority of his shunts with Massa/Maldonado/Webber (all but one really) were all quite clearly the other drivers fault yet only a couple got punished and Hamilton got done for every little thing even when not his fault.

Loads of failures, Hammys car stopping, Rosberg overtaking under red flag, Torro Rosso having a wheel come off after 13laps, and Mercedes having an engine cover come off. Fun times!

Why? 31 years old, never won a race, never got pole or fastest lap and a grand total of 4 podiums since starting racing. Everyone complains about pay drivers then they let this driver near a car. Admittedly some of the PR shoots she has done of photos with her legs out she has looked quite hot but that's about it.

Bring back proper test days and let proper aspiring F1 drivers male or female get a shot instead of people like this.

that would cost to much...... *sigh*

Maybe it is because he is black....

i want consistency, button got a 3 place grid drop (i think) when he did it last year.

it don't matter who it is, they clearly broke the rules and not even a reprimand.

was there today and all weekend. nice and warm but the wind had some chill.

Cars sounds a bit weird in person.

To begin with me and my pal thought they were ok, nice and deep, decent wastegate chatter etc. However after FP1 they did a 50th anniversary lap parade and at the back was a diffuser blown red bull from 2012 i think. Jeez it was loud and made you think the sound of the new cars are still lacking hugely.

That said the extra torque they get low down is showing who can drive and who cant. They look a hanfull out of the slow corners.

Im at luffield is anybody about.

That is probably the most biased post I've seen from here for a while, and that's saying something.

Hamilton's only misfortune is his lack of reliability in a couple of seasons. He's had plenty of luck fall his way, including in my opinion the luckiest win of the past few decades (Monaco 2008).

New cars sound great in the flesh. Really interesting with lots of detail. I do miss the deafening scream sometimes but you still get that with GP2. They're definitely still noisy, but you can still have a convo.

Sitting in luffield earlier with without earplugs they were definitely loud, you couldn't hear them going around abbey and into the new hairpin like with that old redbull though!

If Roseberg gets the better of Ham at his home GP then I think the drivers championship will be pretty much over.

LOL

Even after this race we won't be at 1/2 distance in the title. There's no reason why the DNF's would carry on going one way and the cars won't get more reliable as we are seeing.

Anything could happen in this title race between them, Hamilton fans on here are the most pessimistic bunch. It's coming across as a real woe is me everything is against me attitude :D

Just a quick query but whats the score with the rule of putting your steering wheel back on the car after you get out?

Catching up with FP1 just now and after Massa's crash, he doesn't re-attach the wheel after he gets out.

So why no penalty for Rosberg for overtaking under red flags?

Over a minute after the red flag was displayed, car 6 [Rosberg] overtook car 26 [Kvyat] under red flags at turn 15.

Having reviewed data from several cars in the same area of the track, several angles of video and having spoken to the driver concerned, the stewards determined that: the driver of car 6 had driven the lap fully within the regulations and was travelling at a safe and reasonable speed throughout; that at the moment of the overtake, car 26 pulled fully off line and slowed to as low as 38kph in what appeared to be a very unusual manner, in an area of the track that was visibly completely clear; and that the driver of car 6 took reasonable avoiding action of a car, that the stewards accept he reasonably believed to be in difficulty, consistent with Art. 40.8(h) of the Sporting Regulations relating to Safety Car periods, whereby a pass is allowed in what has to be considered an acceptable circumstance; that the driver of car 6 slowed down to as low as 39kph immediately having passed car 26, reasonably reacting to the situation and continued to proceed with extreme caution.
