British Grand Prix 2016, Silverstone - Race 10/21

Remove the radio ban and don't broadcast the mesages that sound like the driver being told how to drive.

Problem solved.

Surely that would involve different groups of people talking to each other... :o

Have they released the official steward statement yet? Like for last week. It would be interesting to see what took so long and how they came to their conclusion.

Isn't that what's been happening to Rosberg of late though? brake issues at multiple races and now a gearbox. It's similar to Lewis in the first part of the season except his problems were a bit more severe.

I've seen nothing to suggest the 'brake issue' in Austria was anything other than fictional?

Presumably its the FIA that decide which of the radio comms to release to be broadcast?

I would guess FOM get access to everything and decide themselves.

Not hearing the 'save fuel' again has been nice as it led others to think it engine/fuel saving has only happened since the new engine regs in 2014.

This is the thing. The whole radio rules ban was because fans were assumign drivers were being told things they werent being told before, whereas in actual fact all that changed was FOM were broadcasting more.

The solution was to just not broadcast that stuff. But instead we have a stupid radio rule that now carries as low penalty which will see teams strategically breaking it, which is just going to wind the fans up more.

Not really. He was going to have to park the car, so giving him the black flag would have meant that he parked it in the pits rather than on track.
I seem to remember that his failure happened on the last corner, so he would have had to drive the entire length of the track, so he would have either, pulled over straight away because of no drive, or figured out what he needed to do to get drive, and thus continue road the entire length of the track which would have meant he had enough drive to continue racing, so no. Black flag is still no.

Interesting comments from Vettel regarding the wet tyre, I seem to have missed the issues surrounding this. No wonder the safety car stays out if it has rained, the tyre doesn't work. Aren't the tyres even wider next year? That won't help. Bring back Bridgestone...even if just for the lols to see no one choose Pirelli over them. I even forgive Michelin at this point.

I'm surprised pirreli haven't throwen the towel in with such comments.

They are built to what the fia want, they don't won't tyres like the old war days. That doesn't mean they can't build such tyres.

As pointed out in the race, there is no point making proper wets, as they don't race in full on wet its always sc, and if they did make such tyres, they would be dead quickly on a drying track when sc finally pulls off.

Bridgeatone would've just as useless with such interference from fia.

So will Rosberg need a new gearbox and so will get a grid penalty next race (or at least soon).

I wonder when Hamilton will decide to take the hit also for his new parts - it will have to be on a track where they perform well and can overtake.
