I'd say the incident was 50.50, both could have backed out but neither wanted to, yesterday Lewis was on the outside and backed out.

I'm working at the Red Bull F1 factory tomorrow, not sure I'm looking forward to that :D

Isnt the overtake that won Hamiton very similar? LeClerc looks like he gives him room as he knows he's beaten,

Leclerc didn't aggressively squeeze him the entire way. They both took their own line.

Verstappen gave him the space late at the corner and then decided, actually no and turned in.

If Mercedes asked Bottas to do the same, you can imagine the posts here.

I don't have a problem with RBR doing it though, ultimately the drivers championship is the most important.

To a constructor? It shouldn't be.

Why? They will prefer whichever gets them the best PR. It's obviously the WDC.

Could you name every WCC? I bet you could more likely name every WDC and what car they were driving.

Okay, so Hamilton wasn't in fact alongside Verstappen by the apex of the corner. And could have gotten out of it to try again the next lap given how much quicker he appeared to be.

Remind me again what the argument against his penalty is? Leaving aside Horner whinging about how he should have been penalised further, that's just Horner doing Horner things.

A still image never tells a full story. Go watch the replays

A still is completely misleading. That corner wasn't about what you see in that still. Verstappen gave Hamilton the space and then suddenly turned in on him. Hamilton was alongside and was scrubbing speed to make the corner.

So what you see is the best case scenario for Verstappen.

The best view is Hamilton's onboard. Then put yourself in his shoes.

Reminds me of how Rosberg didnt take unnecessary risks once he was so far ahead.

Pretty sure Fernando in 2006 came out and said he's happy to finish second once he'd built up his championship lead. The points difference between 1st and 2nd was only 2 points, he said it's not worth the risk.

Bear in mind that screen grab is after Hamilton has already slightly backed out following Max turning in twice. He was further forward prior to that.

So many salty tears by all the Lewis haters on here this afternoon, makes you think some people on here want brits to fail

I never support anyone just because they might come from the same town, city, country. That seems a bit small minded imo. It's a big world out there full of interesting people with great stories.
