Broken Britain Movies

heh

I can't believe Adam Deacon will not be in Brotherhood. Pretty ridiculous. but then again he's like that character in real life and actually turned on Noel Clarke over calling his film Anuvahood.

There's a piece on Adam Deacon with Stephen Fry, on the BBC site, talking about being bipolar which does seem to match up with his manic states. Dated a lady who was struggling with that a few years back so I've experienced being on the wrong side of those extreme moods.

Wasn't Adam Deacon sectioned, had a full on breakdown from what I remember.
Yeah he's got some serious issues. I heard about the Noel Clarke thing..

Convicted in 2015 of harassment without violence against fellow actor Noel Clarke,[1] he is also awaiting trial on threatening members of the public with a machete.
He walked past me on the street years ago. I recognised that awful voice before I saw him. He was one of those people you could tell had an awful attitude as soon as you saw him, you'd cross the road to get out of his way to be honest.

Femi isn't in Brotherhood either!? What's this film going to be if the three lead characters aren't in the final film.

Sounds like Adam Deacon may not be the sole issue here. Femi isn't just a simple street kid he just graduated with a law degree and was so against being part of Brotherhood ("I'd rather have no fans and never act again than be in that film") that it seems like Noel Clarke has stepped out of line somewhere. Granted they should appreciate what he's done for them.

I still really hope it's a good flick.

I luruuurved Wild Bill. Charlie Creed Miles is awesome and massively underrated. The end brought me close to tears. Also, it's very much a kind of western genre wise, set in modern Britain.

I can't remember much about it other than I enjoyed it, so might give it another watch.

I concur with your 28 film proposal (safety in numbers), will have to look up Danny Boyles motivation, but they represent a visceral comment on society break down.

Was trying to remember another relevant film - -synopsis was : 'group of 3/4 20 somethings Northern town have dreams of new life with respective wives/partners decide to rob a night club/bar one of them works at, owned by local gangster, robbery is during the one day a year that the club members have a coach outing .. but things go wrong' what was that ?

*OK* film referenced was The rise/wasteland strictly a heist movie but stereotypical gritty noughties Yorkshire movie (like a long good friday was a gritty London movie!)

"a populist term which has been used to describe a perceived widespread state of social decay in the United Kingdom circa 2007"

I can't get enough of them, it's one of those rare subjects where I'm entertained even by what some consider a poor movie. I'm looking for any related films from 2004 onward (even if you/others consider it a poor film).

Example:
Ill Manors
Adulthood
Kidulthood
Harry Brown
Eden Lake
Offender
Shifty

Harry Brown is good though because they get whats coming to them and has good actors in it.

Another vote for Outlaw, more vigilante justice.
