broken PS3

Now that is what you call service. :)

What happened to it by the way?

was watching planet earth (which is awesome) film stopped playing and woldn't read disc after that , quite common by all accounts , well 4 of my work mates have had it do the same thing ,anyone else had it ??

is it quite a common fault then?? guy in shop was pretty chilled about it .........

Yeah, Sony make crap drives, so it's no surprise that that is what went wrong. The 40gb PS3's aren't as reliable as the 60gb ones. My friend takes quite a few back every Saturday.

I have said this many times but I am forced to say it again.

In your face Sony fanboys!

I know it is an unknown concept to a lot of people on these forums, but when divaboy said 4 have died in his "office" he means his place of work. (You know that place where some us go to when not masterbating over our ps3 and/or 360s?).

So he knows 4 people in his office who have had a ps3 die on them.

You are dreaming if you think he personally has had 4 broken ps3s himself. I mean what kind of person sticks by a machine/brand that has broken on them 4 times?

p.s. I am gonna look really stupid if the guy has had 4 broken ps3's

You see I dont really care which is better or which console people own, I just remember when asking which one to get the 360 was really unreliable which put me off a lot but now it appears the tables have turned.

You sure are :p

There are a few people on this forum who've had a fault with their PS3.
I'm not even going to bother counting how many of us had suffered the 3rlod on their Xbox 360's.
So tell me, how exactly 'have the tables are turned?'

I still think that is the case. There is no actual data available that shows the 360 is more reliable than the ps3.

The tables have not turned (imo), although a lot more people say they have broken ps3s on this forum recently, having said that a hell of a lot more people are buying them these days!!

What does it all mean? Nothing very scientific, that's what!!

Just my thoughts to be honest. I don't really care either way as I own both consoles, so reliability on a new purchase is not relevant to me.
It's just your "In your face" stuff seems a bit unnecessary in a thread where a man originally had a broken console!!

(Obviously I don't want this thread to be a 360 vs ps3 thread, it's just its not really nice to laugh at other people's misfortune, so I felt the need to reply).

Stop your foul tongue decaying this fine forum and curb your attacks or risk incurring my wrath further

Gilly

Firstly, no swearing.
Secondly, Sony consoles are known for failing on drive errors.
Thirdly, My friend does take back several 40gb PS3's every Saturday (when she works).
Fourthly, The 40gb PS3's do fail more than the 60gb models.

So I'd like to know where I was wrong.

Safe to say your not looking stupid yes 4 borked PS3's in my office all wth the same fault:eek:

Like I said earlier or in another thread I forget , I'm no fanboy i've own both consoles , but I did think sony and *** went way beyond the call of duty when I rang them etc to get it replaced.

think about a TV or pc part , turn around can be days if not weeks , my total down time was 2 hours :D

I havent had a broken xbox 360 .... yet so I can't comment.

Either big thumbs up to *** and sony :)

Ah, you confused me by basically saying "are the all dying from heat" and "my small office" in the same sentence. I put 2 and 2 together and got 5 :p.

Like I said above, and despite the rubbish that poster above said, Sony consoles generally fail on drive failures. I've had 3 PS's fail, 1 PS2 and 1 PS3 all fail on drive failures. I know a lot of other people have had the same in regards to past consoles.

nothing to worry about, consoles are easy to get replaced.

My bad maybe then, does heat have an effect on the failure rate with the drives??.

Slightly side tracking PS1 or was it PS2's but can you remember haven't to out the console upside down or on its side to get the drive to read the disk . Or was that just modified ones..... anyways murky water and all that ;)

ps1. My ps2 was OK but when my ps1 stopped reading games I called Sony, and they actually advised turning it upside down. I thought they were pulling my leg till it actually worked!!!
