My younger brother (17) was mugged along with his mate yesterday by 2 big muslim lads whilst at college in Sutton Coldfield. They took his phone but he managed to hide his Sony MP3 player.

My brothers mate wouldnt give in so easily so they took him to one side and smacked him in the face a few times and completely butchered his upper lip. They also took his Versace jacket, MP3 player and his mobile phone.

They even went as far as warning them not to tell anyone like the cops or teachers, otherwise they'll get stabbed (my brother and his mate).

Now Ive got a good idea who these two big muslim lads are and they are notorious trouble makers in Birmingham and surrounding areas. Im feeling a little helpless because theres nothing me or my family can do about this.

These muslims really need to be put in their place big time. Apparantly this has been happening around the college quite a bit recently.

My problem is understanding the chip these young muslims have on their shoulder which gives them the attitude that they the whole flippin world owes them something???

When I went to Sutton college it was wicked. There were only a small handful of muslims there at the time and even then they used to keep themselves, whilst we were mixing with everyone. A year later a large influx of muslims from the aston, small heath and sparkbrook areas came to the college and since then its been nothing but trouble, and that was back in 1997.

Ill stop before I work myself up to a point where people start noticing at work. Just feeling hacked off and needed to get this off my chest, qwerty is staying firmly in its scabbard :)

You mention their religion several times. Why is this important ?

If they were christian, would you say '2 big christian lads' ? Surely you are not linking religion to race ? Plenty of muslims are white, you know.

Hmmm indeed, anyways you get trouble makers in all sorts of colours and sizes...not just asians or muslims for that matter.

Anyways shop them into the police and tell them that your brother and mate have been threatened with violence etc...im sure the police would take that too kindly etc.

Not nice to hear, but I think the whole 'these Muslims' approach is a little unfair.

We all know that it's only 90% of Muslims that are evil, the other 10% are actually fairing friendly. (Yes I'm joking please don't flame me) :p

How do you know they were Muslims?

My dad was even saying just go to the police, but my younger brother is afraid of any comebacks on that one. I can appreciate why because these guys are pretty well connected and are definitely not nice people.

I mean lets say they do get arrested and cautioned or fined etc, then what? With the type of mentality these guys are possessed with, I wouldnt be suprised if there were any repercussions against my brother.

Errol, I have no answer to your post. Sorry. You'll have to make whatever you can from what I said.

EDIT: For those asking how I know these guys are muslims, Ive had a run in with them before. Why? They targeted me and my friend the same way 2 years ago, and that was because my mate was wearing a turban cos hes sikh. If you want a history lesson regarding the enmity between Sikhs and Muslims this aint the time or the place. Besides Ive calmed down now, was more angry about the fact that mum and dad didnt tell me anything about this until this morning.

Im not discussing this side of it any further. If you so wish to please feel free but dont expect a response from me.

I got a feeling my dad will probably go to the police this evening anyways, so will see how this pans out. Will probably mean my brother changing college if anything.

If any repurcussions were to come of it, these guys would be getting themselves in more trouble.

Kids 10-18 get targetted *a lot* for muggings as they're likely to carry round items such as mobile phones, PSPs and MP3 players - maybe all three. I know you shouldn't have to think about such things, but would you be happy walking around with £500 in cash in your pocket, every day of the week? I know I'd feel slightly uncomfortable. I have my phone and ipod insured which basically means I don't have to worry about this so much, it's something worth thinking about. Insuring my ipod costs something like £20 for the year and my phone is £5 a month on top of my contract.

The only thing I'm worried about is being held up at knife point for my card and pin. :(
