Brought vs bought

I was never taught the correct usage of 'who' and 'whom' - so now I have to stop and think about which one to use.

People who say chill out, it doesn't matter have never heard themselves. It does matter, because anything of importance that comes out of your mouth after is ignored.
Agreed. It's just simply not hard to use language properly and as intended.

To those who say "I do it, it's not big deal". Would you argue that 2 plus 2 equals 5? Because in my mind you might as well be doing that. And you know what, it makes you look damn stupid.

Got a friend who would often say "brang" instead of "brought", for example: "so I brang it back home".

Not sure where he got that from, and he's an otherwise very intelligent guy so it's not just stupid people that do that kind of thing. I think he just doesn't give much of a toss about language as long as he's understood.

Brung is a word.

Genuinely curious why so many people get these two confused. Is there a place where it's taught incorrectly or something?

I might have to bruy a dictionary at this rate

I've started a few threads asking this too, as it irritates the **** out of me. I don't claim to be a walking thesaurus or dictionary, but it's crazy just how many people get these two words mixed up.

Another one that I see frequently on car and RC heli forums is the incorrect use of "damper" instead of "dampener"...

They must have been in the same class as people who use the term "bored of" instead of the correct "bored with/bored by" :D

Don't you guys get bored of this incessant Muslim talk?

The thing is I've been doing this for almost a decade and I'm bored of it.

They'll get so bored of chess you'll be cleaning her plumbing in no time.

Sod off esteban :p

Also, I was going through my ignore list and saw twistedone, remembered how fondly he was the first person ever to end up there. Wondered where he was and voila, like a genie from a lamp.

I can't stand it when people use 'of' instead of 'have', I've noticed it quite a bit on here recently.

edit: lose and loose is another very common mistake on here.

OMG yes! :mad::mad:

I could have done this, you should have done that

Do people never write those two words down next to each other, read it back to themselves and wonder how that could actually make any sense?

I must have bought this up many times coz I loose my temper when people dose there grammer wrong and can't use pacific words to communicate - can't someone borrow them a dictionary?
