Are the 4080s overpriced though? They are the same price 3080s have been for the last 2 years. The FE at £650 were at such limited supply getting one was just a lottery win
Those were overpriced because you could earn money, for instance a 3080 would make between £150 and £300 a month for most of the crypto boom so it's not supprising that people were prepared to pay a higher price for them.

the issue with pricing is we don't know yet if Nvidia/AMD have just reset what mid range pricing is. By this I mean if AMD follows suit and has similar performance then this is the new status quo
then users are just left with pay up or put up with older gen tech

Waiting patiently on the list that I hope @Gibbo will put up on the morning of release showing the volumes in stock for release day.

Can then make a decision based on stock, I really don't want to have my money taken and then be in a waiting list for an undetermined amount of time.

Will aim to do so.
Unfortunately all our deliveries have been delayed by 1-2 days due to airports still prioritising food over luxary goods, the big bulky deliveries are now due today/tomorrow, which is extremely annoying but hopefully they will all be here and booked into stock by Wednesday morning at which point I shall post a heads up in this thread, the other thread and a new thread in GPU section with what is in stock.

MSRP is been revised to £1699 officially as well I believe (awaiting confirmation) due to weakening pound, but doubtful that will be possible for us as were booking deliveries at 1.08 today, I was really hoping to see a better start to this week and back over 1.15, I guess the positive is those who are happy to wait on the provision the pound does regain its strength these cards could easily become £100-200 cheaper in months to come, of course if the doom mongers are to believed and the pound slips more then things get more expensive but I truly do hope the pound recovers, its quite a shock now to go abroad and find everything cost much due the pound buying so little at currency exchange, unless going to Turkey or Japan think GBP still has reasonable strength against those currencies. I was shocked that an airport exchange only want to give me 0.93 euro to each pound! :(
Needless to say I did not bother, used my card as the bank gave me a truer reflection of the rate, though still rubbish.

Thanks, appreciate the update and honesty as always. I think things will get worse before they get better, but hopefully I am wrong.

What I'm saying is I predict demand to be a couple of orders of magnitude below 30 series.

Doesn't take a Nostradamus to figure out demand will be lower; the RTX3000 cards were money printers - the only limit to much free money people could make was how many RTX3000 GPUs they could buy - the more you buy, the more profit you make.

That's not the case anymore, now it's just gamers buying these things, half or more than half the market has dropped off overnight

Hope so still see a lot about crypto, can you mine with these things?

Looks like the 3090s cards shortage all over again :(

I recon it will still be a day 1 sellout of FE and all AIB cards of the 4090 variety.

They will. What's funny is many of the posters I've seen who are buying a 4090 have also voiced pretty strong views politically in other parts of the forum that go against this type of buying behaviour. Yet, they seem quite happy to hand over their money to these corporations.
