If you can get FTTP from BT then you can get FTTP from lots of other places. TalkTalk are £32 for 150Mb, for example.

Exactly that was the main reason i went for it.
Rock solid speeds. Plus it's so nice not having the annoying landline anymore.

Looks like they are stringing a second fibre line between the poles today. No idea why but at least it's progress. I can't wait to get rid of my 12Mbps connection!

OR will fit an ONT which the fibre goes into, and gives you an ethernet WAN port which you can use the router of your choice.

I can't even see a upgrade option to 900mb for me, I've got the 150/30 atm, when I go to upgrades all I see is halo etc, and man those are expensive!!!

Just had my 900 installed. Took a while to activate, but all working.

Did a quick ookla test and it's showing 850 down, 120 up, 6ms.

I've just emailed the guy I spoke to at BT to see if there is any further discounts. I hate having to haggle for stuff in this country. I'm fine when it's culturally expected in some countries...it's good fun. But here I don't understand.

Will see where I get to. I'm up for renewal in November...so imagine there will be deals and cash back offers.

I’m not even in BT land but was giving suggestions to a friend earlier on what package to take.

Hopefully they didn’t sign up to anything as cash back or calling seems to be much better.

Our PON went live a week ago, now all up and running.

Feels like one of those big step changes, dialup>adsl, adsl>vdsl

I can't see myself needing an upgrade in a while, unless of course they offer more upstream

I was figuring this out the other day and I got 512Kbps ADSL in 2001, went through gradual upgrades with ADSLmax etc. ending with ~12Mbps ADSL2+ from Be in 2007 (a 24x increase in six years), then 60Mbps FTTC in 2012 (5x increase in five years), and then no improvement in the decade since. Can't help feeling we lost a decade somewhere messing around with stuff like G.fast when we should have been building.
