I wouldn't read too much in to that. It says April 2021 - December 2026 for me and I've had FTTP since June last year.

You think thats bad you should see the one down our road and has you drive into town there are 4 more just like it and BT are supposed to be investing billions of pounds in the their fibre to premises network what a joke.

Openreach will install all the required equipment and wiring for FTTP. Then, and only then, will they take everything off again to fit a new pole.

fttp is not pole based ??? it's all underground as far as i know .. non copper ?

Openreach is over ground. That black box and the thicker cable is indeed fttp

It can be fed via poles or underground. Poles will be the only option if there’s no underground infrastructure due to the costs involved in putting in new ducts etc.

Entry prices are not cheap if you have to go the BT route.

BT themselves were cheapest when I ordered last week at £49.99 per month

If you are with EE for your mobile network then going through them can be competitive.

My FTTP would disagree with you . Cambridge fibre just use the old BT pole infra where possible to make rollouts a) faster and b) cheaper/less invasive.

Just upgrade my Sky broadband to their new Ultra Fast plus 500. Works out £17pm more then my current package but when my TV contract is up in Jan i'll get that knocked of my TV deal or i'll just cancel it as I don't watch it much anyway.

Just the angle. There's another pole behind it in the scene, the street lamp pole, that is the one with the flowers attached to it in a basket or sorts. You can just about see the silver pole behind the wooden one in that image.
