Nice I hope for similair sync then, I've messed my unlocked modem up so I can't view the stats (enabled internet on both ports which stops you accessing the settings page and reflash didn't default the settings).

I did that and held the reset button in for 30 secs and it fixed it.

Do you need to ask for it, did they send you an email, is it the same price?

Im on the fastest infinity package so Im assuming I would get upgrade for free, or is it more expensive?

More here if you understand all the TLAs! 80/20 is meant to be trialed January to March, though I've read something somewhere that one ISP (Zen?) thought not all FTTC exchanges will get 80/20.

Doesn't really effect me but it's rather interesting the last bit about BET and 2MB for everyone. Having fibre to the cabinet would probably allow BT to set up better links to rural areas and re-use the copper saved to allow another pair to work as the filter used in lan based twisted pair - 1 pair of cables carries the signal, the other pair carries any extra crap thats been picked up. At the end of the cable you continually apply a "negative" of what comes off the "interference" pair to the live pair and in theory you remove a lot of the extra rubbish its picked up.

Fibre helps them tackle it at both ends.

I'm delighted to say that I'm now getting the speeds that the checker is quoting. I've gained 10Mb this week

Now seeing 36/7 as opposed to the 26/7 I've has since august.

I'm not going to unlock my modem, so I don't know if they've enabled 17a or I've just gotten lucky. I did notice engineers as my cab last week, though I assumed they were hooking someone up, maybe they were having a fiddle

Try using the London, Milton Keynes and Maidenhead servers (locations) and see what results you get from them.

You need to unlock it by reflashing the firmware - you can't get the stat's of it as supplied by BT. It's pretty simple, though I did it on a spare one I found at work.

If you're willing to unlock your modem (link in the post above) then that will show attainable and current sync rates.

? The cab is about 100 meters from my front door, buildings all around are <10 years old. Am I just unlucky or impatient?
