BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

I use the HH3 and get those speeds. Pretty sure upgrading the router will have no effect on the sync speed anyway. Think you just did the speedtest at the right time compared to when you did it on the HH3.

Nah my HH3 is a bit **** I have done enough tests / reboots of it to know it gives **** speeds. When my speed doubled my HH pretty much ignored the change in upload speed but was fine when I connected directly to the modem. I have FON turned off and I dont think there was anything else which might reserve bandwidth but yeah it'l not affect sync speed at all.

Must have just been yours then, as mine has been perfect since December.

Host gone back up north for tonight's test. Not a great result compared to the couple of nights ago.

Try and keep the servers the same mate for testing. I wasn't home last night to try a test myself but I will be tonight, so for what it's worth if you want to compare a few it's no problem.

Upgraded on Saturday. Nothing as of last night. They've told me to give it another 24 hours to "settle down" but as far as I can tell they haven't changed the profile. I guess I'll see what the speeds are like when I get home.

Also, HH3 is so rubbish. The speeds are completely sporadic. Sometimes I'll be getting 38Mb/s, sometimes 15Mb/s.

That has nothing to do with the HH3. Like I have said above, mine has been flawless since December. Speeds vary because of the server your using and not your router. Try resetting the HH3 to see if it picks up the new speeds as many people had to reset their HH3 or third party routers for the upgrade to kick in.

Upgraded yesterday. Was on 40 mb but only gone up to 52 mb wheras i was expecting nearer 64 according to the website. Will this go up?

Lucky, mine was unreliable with port forwarding (worked whenever it felt like).

Oh and also you should run a port scan, port 161 used for remote management by BT, not keen on that myself like to be in control of my own security and network.

Its meant to be worth £100 as well not sure where they pulled that price from..

Meh, BT aren't gonna abuse their access to that port. If they wanted to track what you were doing, there is other means for them to do that anyway.
