BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion

We're aiming to build Full Fibre to 25 million homes and businesses by December 2026 and we're not stopping there. We intend to keep building after that too. That's further and faster than any other broadband network in the UK.

As with any national infrastructure programme, sometimes we come across issues we weren't expecting that affect our plans. We've reviewed our build plans for your area and there will be a delay getting Full Fibre to Gucci-ville.
could be this main reason https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.p...0m-uk-premises-target-for-fttp-broadband.html

They are fast running out of quick wins now and are having to do the more difficult (expensive!) areas, was always going to slow down massively as we got to the end of this year.

I’ve had similar as well. I was initially told that the part of the road that I’m on and the side roads off it, were being targeted for April to July 2027. Duct was supposedly going to have to be laid as the vast majority of the current copper is DiG. Guess it’s currently too expensive but there is around 135 properties, would be surprised if Openreach didn’t want a piece of that. Not sure why they don’t just put poles in, the other half of the road and side roads are all pole fed. Luckily, Virgin Media is available so can at least get a 1Gb connection.

Perhaps a collapsed/damaged duct, or something more unusual like a railway crossing that needs more work than anticipated?

Don’t think so. I’ve got an exchange minutes walk from my place so I’d have thought it would have been one of the easier installs

Reminds me of the days when living close to an exchange was a disadvantage for VDSL with those stuck on direct to exchange lines.

I suspect now the main roll out is nearing completion they will look for infill opportunities that make sense, hopefully you are one of them!
