Budget 2012

Another 4p?

Oh dear, makes me die a little inside when I think back to my dad paying 89.9p a litre.

4 x 50 litre tanks a month - £270 at current prices.
£215 tax per year going to what?

But I get an extra £60, I think, per month due to the PA changing. Go me.

that makes me feel very old, I remember paying 29.7p, cost around a fiver to fill up my r5gtt :(

This is why I don't follow politics. All I care about is the numbers on my paycheck, as long as the Tax and NI numbers decrease and thus, the actual amount I recieve per month increases, then they can do whatever the hell they like

How can they agree on raising fuel anymore? it's already pricing people off the roads. Back in my day it was 78p a litre!

It's not green. We must nuke our economy to make a point about CO2 emissions, whilst China continues to open dozens of new coal fired powerstations every year.

Heck he's never going to cut it but not increasing it by 4p at a time when we are suffernig from record prices because we think sanctioning Iranian oil is a good idea would be helpful.

im with you here. why are the government so concerned about green when we commit only a small fraction of the global emissions. we are made to pay for the guilt of others knowing it is ruining our country to the detriment of the people.

politicians - disconnected from humanity shocker:(

And there it is - confirmed. Fuel rises 3.6p in August

Why on earth would they continue to increase it?! Sure this will drive more people off of the roads, thus reducing the revenue generated by petrol sales.

I was paying 82.9p per litre when I started driving and that was 'only' late 2008.

Because it doesn't, does it? Everyone was ranting and striking when prices crept above £1/litre. A few years on, another 40% on top and it hasn't made a difference to the number of people on the roads.

I paid 54p when i started driving in the mid 90's:(

I have a fuel card now so i dont care!

I would never use black market fuel if it was available here, just wouldn't trust it and I assume most drivers would be just as cautious. Fake cigarettes only work well because the "real" ones are poison anyway so buying knock off poison that won't have any quality control and may contain poison doesn't bother smokers lol.

Yeah keep telling yourself that, fake cigarettes are full of lead and other toxic heavy metals that will accumulate within your body and cause organ failure. Just like some of the fake booze going around full of methanol which could eventually cause blindness. Yes the real stuff isn't all that great for you but you'd have to be pretty stupid to think that counterfeit goods won't cause you more harm. Fake goods only work well because people in the most part are stupid.

So counterfeit goods that are knock off's of something that will kill you cause more harm by....potentially killing you... more? (I know what your getting at but its still a comical situation).

As far as I'm aware drinking the odd bit of Vodka every once in a while won't make you go blind, however drinking counterfeit Vodka could potentially leave you seriously ill with Methanol poisoning.
