Budget 2500K First Time Build

I've asked him that very question in post no 185 :p

Apologises but I've been up since 5am and I have done a 14 hour day at work! I'm a little tired!! :p

Yeah. :p

So far Deus Ex looks good. I've also heard good things about Arkham City.

I've got Arkham City but I've yet to play it.. I have to get back into gaming something major!! I have Mafia 2 to play, GTA 4 plus the two add on's, COD 5 and Black Ops, most of the Battlefield games (I've only completed 1942!!) Plus god knows what else!! I think I need to go through my games in an A to Z list!! :D

Have you tried any benchmarks or any overclocking yet?? I'm interested to see how easy it is to overclock! :)

Not yet. I've got these bloody exams this week coming. After that, I'll do some benchmarks stock. I may try overclocking but without the GPU, as I've only got a 430W PSU. I don't want to push it's luck. Next purchases will be a PSU and a better case, but that may be in the summer.

If you have a watt meter it might be handy just to see what its pulling from the wall.. The i7 with 762, with a 580, all the hard drives, fans, pumps etc I had in the system at idle was pulling 330w to 350w at idle.. I didn't try adding more 580's but I will be at some point!

As and when you do sell your PSU, I may well be very interested in buying it from you if your looking to sell :)

Thanks for that :) Looks a little easier for overclocking than the i7's!! Mine were a nightmare to overclock past 4.3Ghz... 4.5Ghz was a killer!!

Yeah, it was my first experience and I was surprised myself- it was not hard at all. Of course auto OC, or just upping turbo frequency would be simpler still, but that increased Vcore by way too much. Manual OC has cooler temps and saves power.

Copy from PC game deals thread:

Deus Ex: Human Revolution £7.99 from Game download service. Still activates on Steam.

Steam acts not just as client but also as DRM. Deus Ex:HR always runs on steam- wherever you buy it from.
THe upside is that you wont have to look for latest patches, steam will update the game automatically.

Good luck with your exams!:)

Ah ok. So should I just download it from Steam then and use the Game activation details? Or does it even matter?

Thanks.
