Budget 2500K First Time Build

If you get the cdkey from Game, then you can probably use either Game or Steam to download. Just use whatever is faster, Steam can be slow sometimes.

Cannot see where to download from Game, the email link isn't working. I'll just get it from Steam. On Thursday though (last exam). :p

:confused:This link isnt working? EDIT: link removed

Works fine for me, just tried it again. The price is still £7.99 too.

No, I already bought and paid for it, but couldn't see where to download it from. Maybe I was being thick. They said the download link was supposed to be in the email, but it wasn't working. Doesn't matter, I already downloaded from Steam and activated it using the Game code.

It does not like the integrated intel graphics one bit. :D

Nice Avatar;)

Good to hear you got it running, don't worry about integrated gfx, your 6850 will run it on max settings - when it arrives:)

No, hasn't arrived yet. I think OcUK got them in today, so they'll probably ship out today or tomorrow? Probably tomorrow, I've heard they had hundreds of orders for this card. I'll pop it in thur or fri with my new gelid tranquillo cooler too.

I had a mess around with Deus Ex without the GPU - had to turn every graphics option down/off and run it at 1650x900 lol :p Reminds me of Nintendo 64.

I'm sure you'll notice a big difference with the GPU :) I noticed a difference with the 580 GTX to the 5970 I had.. but that was mainly due to the ram limits of the card and the resolutions I was going up to!!

Are you gaming at 1920 x 1080? :)

Oooooh, maybe I can pick your brains then :D What make/model of monitor do you have?? I do need to try and get something that works at that res, I wasn't sure of what would be best to get :(

I wish I was more knowledgeable about monitors. Mine is the Dell U2311H 23" IPS monitor. Supposed to be one of the better screens for colours etc. I got it because this machine is mainly for photoshop use. It's not exactly a great gaming monitor, but I've heard some get by with it. I really have nothing to compare though, it's the only monitor I've ever bought and before that was just a 1280x800 laptop screen. Check out the Monitor subforum, many are very knowledgeable there.

I bought a Samsung screen for my best friend, 24", looked good and for just under £200 it was rather good I thought.. I'll see how much I want to spend on one and go from there and maybe post something up :) It's for my AMD Socket A rigs so it doesn't have to be the best of the best :)

I certainly am not going to be buying a couple more Dell 3011's!! :p

Trying to find what the 6850 requires, but the CX430 gives out 28 amps on the 12V rail and 336W.

I think the 6850 draws a little over 130W on the 12V rail.

Thanks guys, I'll report back when I've made some headway on this.

One thing is for damn sure now - I will not be taking in posting nice pics with the GPU in. :)
Nothing wrong with the GPU, but now it's a mess in there. Before, I could at least tuck all the cables and both 2.5" drives away inside and behind the drive caddy/frame thing. Can't really do that now with the GPU in. Definitely need a new case now. :D
