Build problems, mainly with graphics card

Right ok well I didn't lose anythin (:() but everythin changed again. I am touching it for a while and I am using a something that conducts (i actually went and got one of my guitar leads to make sure lol). But anyway, breakthrough: I set the FSB to 250Mhz, did the ctrl+F1 thing, messed with the voltages, and it's currently booted up, with manual voltages. and it seems ok.

I'm just gonna do a quick orthos test to check the temps, and if all goes well, I'll up it to 275. I need to get to 3Ghz before I sleep tonight lol

lol good luck :)

Right when I tried 275Mhz, it doesn't like it. I set the vCore frpm anywhere between 1.22 to 1.27 and it won't boot properly. I get to various stages of the boot, sometimes it doesn't pass the post test, other times it get's to the peripheral list. It nevers gets into Windows though. It's as though the voltage which I'm entering isn't actually the voltage which the motherboard is supplying it, which might be the reason I'm struggling to get anythin higher than 2.5Ghz.

I'll keep experimenting anyway. I'll try a BIOS update as well

EDIT: It seems to be that if I supply it with too much vCore, it doesn't boot properly at all, but if I supply it with too little, it can't POST properly. It's so hard to find that sweet spot lol. I thought you could have one or two different voltages for one FSB speed. Ah well

hmmm.... I'll have a think, but bed beckons.

I won't be on again until atleast tuesday due to work.

so all I can say is all the best, and make sure you've read the OCUK OC'in Sticky.

g'night mate.

Rgith then. Is houdl probably be doin the same lol. The bioshock demo just crashed on me a bit rhough. Don't think it's due to instability though. Thanks for all your help anyway.

And I'll have a peek at that thread.

G'nite

OK I've done it (or so I think anyway). After a long time of researchin, I realised it was the RAM divider (ot the multiplier as the mobo calls it). When I was leavin it on auto, it was givin it a multiplier of 4, so it was tryin to run the ram at 1200Mhz! hence why it wasn't bootin!

So I put a preset multiplier in (2.5 I think) so it's running at 750Mhz, just 50 below stock. I did a quick orthos test, and it was fine. Gonna put it through a phase of 3D Mark and then I might try and get it to 3.2 or Maybe 3.4.

Lol and after all this time it was the RAM Multiplier.

Thanks for all your help anyway Yanto, and everyone else that contributed to the thread :)

well done, got there in the end ey.

I seem to remember you saying you'd post some pics mind... :p

Yanto.

lol yep. I'm at 3.33 now :D Haha and I will do now. I'm just gonna properly figure out how to put them in a post and i'll put them on that other, original thread.

Thanks for all your help btw. Silly RAM multiplier lol

Yeah it seems it. It passes 10 minutes of orthos (i know, it's not really long enough, but if it isn't completely stable it fails within the first few minutes), and both CPU test in 3D Mark (where I usually get blue screens when it's unstable).

I'm still using the AC Freezer 7 Pro, it's at 30C on idle and 53C on load (peaks at 54 I think). I don't think it'd be worth gettin a more expensive cooler like a tuniq tower because I don't think it'd get the temps that much cooler.

I probably will do once I've got to the clock speed I want. It'll probably be 3.5, any more than that and I'm probably gonna need to give it at least 1.5V and I don't wanna step over that 1.5V line lol
