Oh, and I've sorted the annoying banner.

After advice from Katie, I've done away with it altogether and instead just gone with a simple logo in the top left corner.

If you want my input regarding the site itself, be very careful what you showcase in the portfolio, only use the best possible work you have created thus far. Anything that is not the very best quality will merely serve to put off potential clients and ruin your image.

Also IMHO the image viewer you have chosen looks a little clunky and dated. Take a look at some other designer's portfolios. Simpleviewer seems very popular, looks very classy and well polished. http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/

Remember, your site and portfolio have to look really slick and professional. At the moment, I think you could do a lot better, but it's a decent beginning and I wish you the very best of luck with it.

Setting up a small design company (specialising in logos and stationery) is something I would love to do too, maybe some time in the future. I have been dabbling in it for about 2 years now, I just don't have enough spare time to really go for it.

I'm working on a new design for the site already, something a little less generic.

I've got tons of free time atm so it's all good. :D

I've also been asked to design a site for a company. Just waiting on confirmation and a brief. :)

Oh and regarding your own site, remember - less is so much more. Keep it simple, clean and distinctive. Try to create a logo that makes you stand out from the crowd. But take it from me, your own logo is the hardest thing to do.

If you need help with anything, give me a shout, although I haven't got a clue about web design, but I have created a fair few logo's in the last couple of years.

Pretty much, yeah. :)

Just trying to implement the image viewer now but can't get it to find the images for some reason. Definately using the correct path.
