Building a travel tech pack

I travel a lot with work... best thing i found is Dell 30watt usb-c chargers. About £10 normally off the bay and just charge anything quickly (not as quick as proper charger but great alrounder). Just take 2 of those and 2 plug adapters for where i'm travelling job jobbed

Let me know what you think of it, that's been in my basket for months on Amazon. What stopped me is for international travel, with an adaptor on top it sticks out a lot. Also people says it gets hot.

All of the chargers I have used that output more than 45w that are in that small a form factor seem to get pretty hot, the more watts the toastier. None hot enough to be uncomfortable though.

Got mine ready for South Africa....
  • 20k mAh power bank (can charge up to 65W)
  • HDMI lead
  • Magnetic USB-C charging plugs though on the fence about these (I don't seem to have much luck with charging ports in recent Samsung phones)
  • Multi cable for lightning, USB-C, micro USB
  • USB-C to A adapters
  • USB-C memory stick
  • 65W charging bricks
  • Long and short USB-C charging cables

Don't forget the charger for your smart watch if you have one.

My Phillips 1 Blade shaver has a barrel 8 socket, so I got an USB-C adaptor for that now and put it in the tech pack, even though it should be in with the toiletries.

Good shout Raymond, literally got my first smart watch at the weekend. And the cable it comes with looks like one I could lose in an instant (have a second on its way). Also looking forward to trying out (renting) another G-Master (100-400) lens for safari :D

Throwing in my 2 cents (or pence):

A cable organiser / cable management. It's an A5-sized wallet to keep/track your cables and it's fairly flat in the bag.

For those posting Amazon links, go install Greasemonkey (or similar) and download the script called 'General URL Cleaner'. It strips the crud out of the Amazon (and similar) URLs, leaving just the web site address + product number.

Oh I recomend when you get the big battery pack get one with in built leads and sockets.

It's far less likley you'll break a lead and a socket but for most break the one input port and you're screwed.

"Usb sticks with films
Fire stick / Chromecast"

An old mobile with usb c to hdmi cable I've found good instead of this less messing around with WiFi etc supports internet browsers and all the streaming services + your own videos an SD card holds insane amounts. And it's a good back up for either of your phones.
