No mate ive not finished the cooler yet , got thermal paste to go . Ok i got a ton of cables with his power supply would it be there possiblyquestion for the room, is this secured properly?
On this picture you can see 2 x connecters in the top left, make sure these are connected (1 x 4 pin and 1 x 8 pin)
yep, cable(s) probably labelled as gpuOk i got a ton of cables with his power supply would it be there possibly

As a newbie it will not let me post anymore on this thread for 24hrs
Yeah i didnt realise....ironically it turned out a few bits was missing from the cooler mounting bits . He ordered another cooler , frostflow 280 which ive just fitted, Just connected everything now , and hes just purchasing windows 11 as we speak and downloading the relevant installation boot up files . What ill do is get a few more completed pics and upload them . Im 90% sure everything is connected as it should be.@g6yob - You're not allowed to make multiple accounts on this forum, but you should now be able to post again (or in a couple of hours)
For the CPU connectors, can you check if any of the CPU looms you have are split (i.e. can be separated in to 4+4)?
If so you'll just need to lightly bend the other half out the way.
How are you getting on with the cooler? - Make sure to remove any protective film from the thermal paste (if it's pre-applied) before fitting it, otherwise the CPU will likely get too hot very quickly (but don't worry too much if you missed this and have tried to power on, it should shut itself down before anything gets damaged)!
With regards to his liquid cooler , ive looked online and it recommends mounting at the top and the direction the fans are at currently they would pull hot air out , is that correct
Enabling XMP (or may be labelled as DOCP) in BIOS should be roughly as detailed in this link (it's a different Asus motherboard for the AM4 platform):Thank you for your responce @TrojanWhore , no i didnt enable xmp at bios . Wouldnt know where to start lol but i can definately take a look at that today once im back from work. I havent really checked the fans if im honest with you . My main aim was to make sure i didnt fry anything and id built it correctly , which so far seems to working fine .
Off the subject a tad , now my youngest son he's (9) has been going crazy over getting a tower , he plays cod , fifa , call of duty etc but really wants to play games on pc . Ive said id buy him parts over a period of time , starting with a tower . Im after a budget-ish tower that would be sufficient for everything i would need hardware wise , also hes a huge fan of led lighting , the tubing etc . Would you have any recommendations
Ohh brillaint ill have a look in bios . That case looks perfect , but id definately would want to fit a aio in there if possible . Budget wise i wouldnt have a clue , i dont wanna go mad , but i would be buying the parts bit by bit ( agreement with son if he wants it on top of all his other xmas gifts lol ), definitely want it to be usable for him but at the same time i can always upgrade hardware if necessaryEnabling XMP (or may be labelled as DOCP) in BIOS should be roughly as detailed in this link (it's a different Asus motherboard for the AM4 platform):
As you can see in the screenshots, the target DRAM frequency (in yellow) will change to the new value, as well as it showing in the Memory frequency drop down box (for the RAM kit you've listed in your OP I think this is 3200MHz)
Regarding the tower for you other son, is it just the case you are looking to buy currently?
I'd normally suggest to wait until you have an idea what hardware you'll be putting in it (mainly the graphics card, motherboard and cooling requirements).
If you can confirm what sort of budget you're looking for (both the case as well as overall system budget!), we'll be able to make some recommendations.
There are plenty of relatively decent budget cases featuring RGB LED lighting (from around £50), if you're talking about glowing tubing on the cooler then that's gonna be custom loop watercooling, which is much more challenging in terms of building and cost.
If you wanted to add a little extra visual flare you can easily do this with coloured braided power extension cables.
As an example, I built a system for a friends kid of similar age during lockdown with the following case and he absolutely loved it (I can find some pics of it if you want but other cases are now available which I think are even better looking!)

I would note however, that you probably wouldn't be able to fit an AIO watercooler in the roof of that very easily (or possibly at all)!
So, is the PC all up and running now?Msi https://imgur.com/gallery/hHdr7fv
Ok all necessary drivers are installed , also was recommended to download msi afterburner . Ive posted a image of current readings ... not sure what im looking at lol but just wanted to make sure it all looks ok
