BulletStorm - Official Thread

Serious Cannon much?

Looks interesting, will at least be a different style to the current FPS games thanks to the weapons, though it could fall flat on its face. I'd most likely wait for reviews though first.

Yeah, same here. Looks like a game with some potential, if they've kept it fresh and varied it could be rather good, hopefully a little innovative. Will keep an eye out for this but as you say, I may just check reviews first before buying.

I don't generally care about reviews as a lot of them have a major swing in opinion and can influence things far too and be influenced. I'd rather test for myself. (in reference to evilsod)

Apparantly People Can Fly wanted a pc demo but Epic said NO, Typical Epic being tossers towards the PC gaming community

Seems like an amped up UT3 to me with some new weapons and lots more swearing. Hopefully it's better than UT3.

Still think that Brink is going to be the skill based FPS of 2011 though.

*shrug* read enough of them and watch some gameplay footage or video reviews and you get a good idea.

Well its major competition atm are Bulletstorm (ie this) and Homefront.
Not seen anything more on this, though again i say it has potential but the likelihood of it requiring skill is very slim.
Homefront has quite a few gameplay trailers not containing gameplay which in my mind means its almost certainly gonna be ****. When i did finally find a gameplay demo it struck me as yet another attempt at merging BF and CoD only with gimmicky 'battle points' to let you buy stuff at any given time, so basically i can assume it will be attempting to keep teamwork to a minimum.
Brink always struck me as a Borderlands meets Assassins Creed freerunning. Have to wait and see again tbh.

SA had it bang on when they did the Cliff Yablonski parody.
Epic wouldn't be quite so Epic if it wasn't for the PC.

Personal opinion:
Watched this when the trailer was on E3, thought it looked pants then, still think it looks pants now.

Sure it LOOKS nice visually, but the game itself just looks, for lack of a better word, crap.

meh

Better than the tripe that is CoD lol.

How? like how do i think it looks crap or how as in did i watch it on E3?

..... or how as in native american indian HOW :p

It just doesn't appear to offer anything in the way of excitement or anything new, i'm just bored to tears of games like that. I remember watching the E3 video and hearing the characters speak and just thinking "rated 18, but intended for 14 year olds who love to learn to swear and act tough"

100% most certainly would agree with that :) (though i get the impression you thought i was going to disagree :p)

Ah well, it's hard to offer something new these days other than refinement of all ready over done genres.

Not at all mate, was hoping you would agree!

I am pleased that dev's are finally peeling away from the usual warfare style games. Yea they were good, but enough is enough. Want something new to just switch off my mind, shlump on the sofa and have a giggle.

At the end of the day, that is what games are about. Fun and entertaining :)

So true :( Valve are the only company that keep surprising me with new stuff, and even they haven't done it in over a year. (though come portal 2 i hope to be in awe again)

It is nice to have a few games that don't require much thought or concerntration for those occasions when your feeling like just generally shotting stuff but i can't help but feel there are too many of those made too regularly, gaming in general is really lacking a good story based FPS, rather than some "pew pew shoot this, run there, shoot this... well done mission complete, now on to the next one" Everyone either takes it too far and make full blown first person rpgs or not far enough and the games become mind numblingly boring :(

Do agree there.

I generally favor and play RPG's a lot more than FPS's for that very reason, I enjoy a fantastic, gripping and indepth story when I play games and also like the working towards bettering my 'character' in games as well.

But, as you said, always enjoy a mind numbing game :)
