Bye Bye BMW...

I'm thrilled with what I've bought

Everything else suddenly becomes rather irrelevent if this is the outcome really - so enjoy the car. Few could argue it's anything other than a fantastic car, all we can do is nitpick over matters of personal taste.

It's hardly a 60 plate Astra 1.4.

^ Unsurprisingly it looks even better lit up.

Can't stand the interior of the F10! At least not in that combo.

There's too much in too little space, all with same little tacky plastic buttons. No ty!

/reaches for sickbag.

You funny. Fair enough you don't like the combo, but the buttons are far from tacky :D.

Anyway, as J1nxy hinted, there's also the new(ish) A7 (=> A6, pretty much), which I'm sure will split opinions equally as much as XF vs. F10.

I like that very much, but I don't think it quite has the charisma of the F10 nor the space age feel of the XF. It's sort of a middle man, though still a million times better than the old A6 imo. I think Audi need to start pushing the boat out if they're not going to be left a distant third in the exec saloon / coupé stakes, though they'll no doubt remain a perennial favourite on the company car lists.

J1nxy, I'm interested that you tested the A5 sportback, which has leg room comparable only to the A4 and looks a bit like a big A3, rather than the A7 which must be more similar to the Jag (though it's got a hatch). I understand that you didn't like the experience but surely the first one to drive was the A7 (which is also a newer model)?

Ah but your wrong there the A5 Sportback is some 15% bigger than the A4 and its all in the legroom in the rear and you gain width by it only being a 4 seater. The A7 Sportback is only a further 5% bigger than the A5 Sportback but being brand new is somewhat expensive at the moment, and like all Audis you seem to need to drop the option list on it.

Anyway got a better picture of the front...

Thank god you didnt go for the £499 snide looking LED Audi style running lights that fit where those chrome slats are :D

Did the Jaguar accessory man try and sell them to you?

Yeah they did and I might get them done at a later date, but not sure. They look ok on the aero pack'd cars as you retain the chrome look to them as well.

Stunning car !!!!!!

I need those auto rising air vents in my car, but won't go ahead they a ghetto backlighting install :D

Right I'm off to Notts to get wasted with scummy students.... Have fun comrades!

I guess if the F10 didnt do it for him then there simply isn't any point him driving it - it's a lot of cash to spend on a car that doesnt do it for you.

Yes, true enough, but I can think of quite a few cars that did not quite "do it for me" until I tried them, the e60 & F10 being two that stand out - I was not much for either tbh at launch, a few drives of the e60 won me around as such - the first drive of the F10 sealed it

One day, I'll have one...... :)

But as I've said its not necessarily just the car, which I don't think looks very good anyway, its about the whole experience and to put it bluntly the experience I've had from BMW over the 2 periods of ownership and when looking at these cars has been crap.

When I'm looking to drop the sort of money I have on a car you'd expect to be treated at least half decently but their whole attitude stank, we walked in to the showroom had a wander round looked around a F10 and sat in it had a play with the seats etc, so in there for a good 5-10 minutes and not 1 of the sales people even bothered to get of their arses and ask if we were ok or if there was anything they could help with. We walked out without a single word being uttered to us from them and this was pretty much the height of the customer service we had.

I won't even comment on the service departments I've experienced or their attitude...

Mind you they would have to go some way to be beat the attitude of the Audi sales guy who when he turned up in a A5 Coupe 2.0 TDI Manual when I asked to drive the A5 Sportback 2.7 TDI Multitonic and I queried why said something along the lines of you couldn't afford 1 anyway...I was a little annoyed by that to say the least...
