*******C.A.R.S - Community Assisted Race Sim*********

Will the final game have 'non circuit' tracks like city tracks and tracks that go through the country side etc?

I'm not a fan of circuit tracks, I find they're all a bit boring.

There are two or three non circuit tracks I'm the game now if you have one of the higher tool packs.

One is an Azure coast track, I think the other two are a California Coast road and there's a Scottish Highlands type road. Plus there's the Nordshleife and a couple of other very long tracks, like classic Spa.

Yes Barmyllama is right. There is a few point to point tracks.
Azure Coast which is based on the coastal roads around the French Riviera.
California Highway which is based on California Highway 1 Route
Bannochbrae which is totally fictitious and is based on B roads in the Scottish Highlands.

The AI still weave left and right all down the straight and end up upside down to often.
I think they improved the AI since then?
someone put a video on youtube saying the AI was better, no cars crashed upside down etc and the cars appeared to be weaving to block and not ramming

The promotional footage from gamecon etc is all horrible though they keep showing footage from people playing with a controller , all assists turned on and damage turned off.

it makes the game look like really arcade and awful, you'd think rene rast was playing a completely different game

The AI is still being tweaked I believe. If a change is required with a track, there might be alterations need to the AIW and as such those will be done whenever the devs get to it.

Certainly the AI has improved over time and there is still room to improve it further. Give it time! :)

There's a bit of a **** storm on the wmd forums from what I've heard.

Members are complaining about the LE version and whether they will receive that as part of their investment and secondly whether they are getting the LE content. They seem to be confused what they are getting as some things are labelled as LE exclusive or if it is to be sold as dlc.

The Marketers responsible for that video said:
Hey guys, we need a video to show off how awesome the graphics are in our new racing simulator.

The Producers of the video said:
What about showing some, ya know, racing in it?
The Marketers responsible for that video said:
Ha. Why would we want to do a thing like that?

I'm seeing panning shots of stationary cars. Slow moving vehicle in the rain. Sunsets, sunrises. Panoramics of the environment...

The Producers said:
... and what about the racing?

The Marketers said:
Pfft. I mean, really... who cares about the racing?

Those limited edition cars seem a bit good to keep out of the base game? I mean if they were modified versions of the stock cars then fair enough but no Mclaren F1 for base players? :o

I'm also wondering how much new content there will be vs the on going beta's as to be honest I'm fairly content with just sticking with the beta :p I'm guessing the Single player won't get added to that plus a few bonus cars + tracks.

been reading the thread 60pgs upto yet of rage over this.

basically they made a promotion thread all negitive posts have been removed from public and put in a private thread you cant read unless you a member.

kind of sums it up tbh.

one day theyll learn or maybe just go bust.

There certainly is. We are also complaining that we had literally zero input into this decision. Nobody outside of WMD knew about this until it was announced. I would also argue that there is too much in game content exclusive to the limited edition.

Yes, it is a promotion thread. It is not there for people to complain. Its not quite the same, but OcUK has a very similar policy as they will remove all mentions of competitors and will usually delete threads complaining about OcUK or move them to a private section of the forums, because these forums are a large part of OcUKs advertisement. I honestly dont see a problem with removing complaints from what is effectively an advertisement on the pCARS forums

Who needs negative posts when pro driver recommendations is being used to sell this. Surprised they didn't stick Lewis Hamilton's little brother's name in the credits. :p

Saw the LE version in Poland for around £30. But not seen a UK price yet.
