Erm dunno about amd myself but I've been playing the game in my laptop which isn't going to set the world on fire. Its an alienware ( no sniggering at the back lol ) m17x r4 with a single 7970m and at 1080 p with a mix of med , high and ultra details with ds2 and high detailed grass etc steam fps counter tells me I'm mostly in the upper 40s , does drop to low end 30s during rain and packed field of cars. Perfectly playable...
Plays just fine for me Maxed out @1080p except Shadows which I turn down Low due to the weird shimmering it creates on a 7970 3GB won't get 1000FPS but perfectly playable, even recording at the same time, only gets even slightly choppy on a Full Grid Start in Heavy Rain or Azure (Monaco) when I'm recording (OBS), if I'm not recording it's fine. I think my i7 3930K helps out a lot though.
Just got my key from cdkeys.com preloading now

I see no option to view dlc - not sure if thats because there isn't any or because its just a preload.
plays fine here with 285 amd! @1080p, everything bar AA maxed out.

So the cdkeys version was standard then, does it even show the preorder bonus?
I think I'll go through steamtrades in that case and get the digital edition for £25

I was in the alpha/beta for this and its in my steam liabary. Should I delete it and redownload or will it just update to the ''release version''?

You don't have to do anything. There will be a small uodate that converts your beta key to retail and you're good to go.
That's assuming your tool pack entitled you to the full game.

release will not be any different to the latest build I feel
only removal of log-in screen I guess.. maybe even that will stay due to "driver profile" and all that.. ?! was there an actual page on WMD forums that listed the differences between the latest build and release version?!

The latest build is basically the disk version plus the day one patch.
