*******C.A.R.S - Community Assisted Race Sim*********

OK, just installed and I am totally blown away by this! Even on the system in my sig, its running flawlessly.
I need a wheel though, the keyboard just ain't cutting it!

Signed up today too. Loving it so far. Xbox 360 controller works a lot better than keyboard and may be a cheaper interim option while saving for a wheel.

I need some help (because tbh, I have not a clue what to do when it comes to the technical side :p)!

I was trying to do a race with Formula A (it applies to most of the open wheelers tbh) and when I try to accelerate from the start, and after a corner my back wheels just spin out and I can't ever get past the 1st corner! :(

i just had another blast on this, the handling of the atom is a joke, no way it handles like that in real life...

I have to agree.

I tried it on the Azure Coast road and it slides all over the place, even at low speeds. If that's how it handles in real life, then I'd struggle to drive it on a normal road in the dry at 40 MPH!

On the other hand, the Jaguar Palmer is a joy, as is the Radical.

the radical is better but still not 100% id say, there feels to be a dead zone on the steering when driving it for me were i get no response from whats the tyres are doing, i race the radical on iracing...

i have no dead zone set in setting...

When is multiplayer expected? I think I'll buy the game when it has that.

You may not get the chance to.

Apparently there's a deal for the rest of the required funding pending and if it's signed then the option to buy tool packs will be closed.

We've been told that there's possibly only a few weeks left in which to buy tool packs.

This is all assuming that SMS are happy with the contract on offer and do actually sign.

Ok, tried my Fanatec and my Xbox360 joypad, both suffer from the same handling problem, basically its not too bad until i get over-steer which i try to correct, which results in over-correct, into over-correct into the kitty-litter, every damn time, in every damn car.

Ive tried many different settings, read many threads and basically I'm unable to find anything that makes it much better. What controller are you guys using to be able to control the cars so well, control drifting and basically enjoy this sim?

Have you used the in game calibration tool for setting up the wheel?

I recommend that you do if you haven't, it makes a big difference. At least I think it does.

I have a similar experince to what you described with the G27 if I don't go through the calibration process with each new build.

i still dont get much feeling from the tyres with my wheel...

i need to mess with the logitech profiler but its set up perfect for iracing right now and i cant be bothered to mess with it...

I just hope that they haven't concentrated on the FFB for Logitech wheels, I've got a Thrustmaster T500 RS coming sometime next week.

So I'll probably have a G27 on sale in the MM in the very near future.

i do fancy a t500, only 3 things put me off, the wheel is huge, and the paddles are mounted to the base not the wheel so they dont move and lastly the new BMW clubsport wheel that out soon...

The fact that you "should" do most of your braking and downshifting in a straight line before turning into a corner means it shouldn't be too much of a handicap. Plus I will probably buy the shifter at some point that can be used as either a standard 6 speed shifter or a sequential shifter.

I did prefer the fact you could lock the shifter of the G25 so it acted like a sequential shifter you find on touring cars.

aye i get what your saying but in f1 or similar cars im always shifting mid corner...they were only small points that put me off id still buy one and the f1 wheel and id interchange them...tbh ive had me eye on one for a while but ive spent loads this year on sim racing only just bought my obutto and triple screens...

iv got the frex shift + on the way to me, well ive ordered it but it comes from japan...
