***C/L Spoilers 4th/5th April

Well happy with that, who would have thought we would play Real Madrid and Juventus and not concede a goal? I think this Vieira song sums up Juve :p ;

he plays in black and white
his team are ******* *****

We're talking Euro Cup/Champs League
Either way, Shevas top. :p

Another reason for all the confusion is that some people count goals in qualifying (remember Man Utd have only managed one top2 finish in the last 4 seasons, so Ruud gets loads of games against mickey mouse teams to fill his boots), whereas other lists probably only count goals in the proper champions league.
True.
That annoys me because Ruud hardly ever scores against the big teams in the CL. But scores against the small teams.

Next up, Villarreal :)
That quote was a blast from the past wasnt it? :p

Well done to Arsenal, but the game was relativly boring i thought.
Im suprised Lehmann didnt get booked for running over to Nedved and yelling at him. Afaik, that sort of behavoiur is against the rules, yet referees let players get away with it?!
It'll be a tough game against Villarreal. I couldnt predict a winner of that, it could go either way.

Milan vs Barca should be an interesting game.
If it lives up the the inevitable hype, it'll probably be the game of the tournament.
Another hard one to call. Most people will say Barca will win easyily. But i think it'll be closer than that.
If we've got our defence back & fit by the two games, i think we'll edge it. Otherwise, i couldnt call it. As our makeshift defence either plays good or bad.

:o Yes topped it off indeed.

Cant really say anything apart from well done Arsenal. Niall Quinn hit the nail on the head at the end, summed up about Italian clubs of present :(

Forza Milano!
What was said?
I missed that because i left the pub early.

He said the Italian teams are past it, and appear to be stuck in the 70's. That was due to Juventus' 3 reds and Materazzi horride elbow, for which he deserves a 3+ game ban.

Long ball football, aren't Italian teams suppose to play good football....

Well done Arsenal :)

That performance from Juve was as dead and dull as they put up against us last year - no heart and no bottle.I actually thought Arsenal might have found it harder than we did in a strange way as juve were 2 goals behind - at least with our game they had the excuse that they only needed to nick one goal to go through,so could be a bit conservative .Tonight they had no excuses for such a gutless showing.Still, all good stuff :)

Basically having a dig at the crapness of the Italian clubs and how they are just not performing, and rightly so really. Getting used to churning out results etc... I was with him for most of his criticism then he made a dirty sleazy comment about dirty Italian play/tactics.

I like Platty's unbiased attitudes though, he's great.

Not performing? I'd hardly call having 3 teams in the quarters not performing. Afaik, over the last 3-5 seasons, the Italian teams have been the most consistant.
Add to that a 3rd Semi in 4 years and i wouldnt say that Milan arnt performing either!

It annoys me that everyone lumps all of SeriaA in with Juve or Inter. It really does. They both play 'traditional' Italian footy. The footy that everyone thinks is SeriaA.
Teams like AC, Fiorentina, Reggina, Ascoli and a whole host of others play nothing like them two!

Quinns an idiot. Good footballer. But has no place in commentry or as a pundit if he doesnt know his stuff.

Spot on they spend most of there time moaning to the refs and rolling around on the floor.
Just as there'll be doing during the world cup.
Always good to see the italians out :P.

Well done Arsenal you were by far the best team over both legs.
Hope you go on and win it.

Oh come on, we here that same lame stereotypical talk day in day out. Fact of the matter is it happens in football in general.

I hear ya Boom!

Can't complain about the result, i felt we were just waiting to counter but Juve had no ideas whatsoever. Would have been nice to get a goal.

We need to make sure we don't get complacent with Villareal as they won't be a walkover at all.

FFS.

BBC site claimed last week (and still does) that the semi would be on the 18th, so I booked a couple of nights away with the gf for 19th-21st. But looking at the UEFA webby it seems Arsenal are pencilled in to play on the 19th :(
