If he won then you are legally obliged to sell... that's how ebay works mate. If you got a better offer then you should have cancelled the auction straight away.

Yes you are right, then i didnt know but i do after. It was a honest mistake.

I hardly use my account, i emailed ebay when i put this ad up recently....Havent heard anything though.

Would this sort of thing put his insurance up?

Yes.

Personally I tend to think that cars look better as standard, as a rule.

Sometimes, but look at the difference between a prefacelift 5 Series SE and a post facelift Sport:

It costs about £2-£2.5k to get that look on a prefacelift car so whether its worth it is debatable but I dont think it looks better standard :)

cant deny its a massive improvement, whether or not its justifiable on a 2k car or not is debatable.

I actually chose my words poorly there :) I should have said, I think cars should be left standard as a rule. I mean, of course the Sport model looks better. But I think the standard car would be easier to sell on afterwards, and you'd save a lot of money in the process.

Money which could be put towards buying a real sport in a few years :)

* must add i do love the change in lights, makes a massive difference. is it a single headlight unit or a seperate clear indicator?

Cheers

Definitely not IMO. You've got a nice bargain there but investing more than you paid for it for aesthetic reasons would be madness :).

Each headlight is a single unit. They are £300 a pair for genuine BMW ones, aftermarket ones look awful. Rear CELIS LED lights off a facelift look good as well, but are £190 a pair. And then the newer lights often look a bit odd combined with the prefacelift SE bumper.

He won but i got a better offer (my advert says i can withdraw from sale anytime) anyway the better offer didnt materialize. I contacted the ebay winner but he didnt acknowlege my mail and went ahead to leave a negative after he requested an invoice. I have informed ebay already. :)

I'll give you £1500 cash right now

Nice one mate, cant believe its insurable at group 14 though! I;m having trouble with quotes on a 2.0 T astra grp 12!

Will be back in easter for you to chauffeur me around swindon :p .

Expect pics soon!

Cheers one sev, hopefully pick it up end of the week if all goes to plan. Seems to be insurable but i guess its its because a 5 series isn't a popular choice with 18 year olds? Maybe its because you live deep in the ghetto and i live in a quiet village :p

Yeah i reckon, even deeper in the brizzle ghetto next year aswell. What colour is it btw? You could properly swindon drug dealer it up, limo tints and chromes :p .

Or not.

Dark blue met. I aim to keep it standard as possible tbh. my first mod will be cushions for the parcel shelf.

Ah yeah i think i remember reading about it a few months back. I used to do the Swindon - Plymouth journey in my old seicento every few weeks to visit uni mates. I'm looking forward to a more comfortable motoring life now! When i test drove the bmw i took it round a few local NSL B roads, felt so much more capable despite being about twice the size of my old car. Felt like i was doing about 25, looked down to see i was doing the limit.

Will do, will have to arrange a swindon convoy!

Count me (and, unfortunately, Zefan) in.

I fancy some summer shows anyway (starting withjapfest anyone?) so if there are enough members round these parts (inc brizzle etc. i guess) we could meet up on the m4 corridor and make our way to the pod in the summer!

And no i won't put my measly 1.8 Astra on the rollers :p .

Edit:  check my post count! (and my name!)
