Call of duty Black ops 6

First COD I've tried in a while and while I like the game play, the SBMM is absolutely killing it for me, every game is a sweat fest. I'm too old for this TBH, the days of me playing 4-6 hours a day (was a student) are long gone. I really miss persistent lobbies and the old school match making where the ability of the players was somewhat random/mixed.

Enjoyed the campaign though and me and a couple of mates have been enjoying zombies too.
If it's the first COD you've tried in a while, chances are SBMM is actually helping you rather than killing it for you. The general skill level is much higher than it used to be 10+ years ago.

Yup, it feels like the lobbies are full are pros. either that or i'm really bad :)

Maybe. Either way, I'm not enjoying it very much. It feels like I yo-yo between a playing well and then a much higher skill level game, then back again, I'm pretty sure that's SBMM at work, at least it feels like it

It's probably down to growing out of it though, TBH. I was a regular player in the MW1, MW2 and BO1 so it has been a while outside of the odd go here and there. Played a shed load of Warzone during covid too.

The newer games seem to flip the spawns much more aggressively, to the point where you can fairly regularly have multiple players spawn very close to you, it feels like you can't be tactical at all (at least in TDM) as it feels so random and a just a bit of cluster**** TBH. Not that COD was ever very tactical, it just feels like the remnants of any tactical play have gone.

That's okay though, I probably won't bother playing multiplayer anymore and just stick to zombies with mates. I'm glad it was on Gamepass anyway to allow me to give it a go, as I would never have bought it. The campaign was fun too.

Okay, what's SBMM?

Edit: I think I may have just worked it out based on your use of the word skill. Is it Skill Based Match Making?

If so do you think it's on and you're getting matched with like for like or is it not on and you're in teams of sweat lords?

Do the vault weapons offer anything other than a cool skin? If you pay to win with better weapons im done!

Nope. They’re just skins and access to certain attachments instantly. They don’t give the guns anymore stopping power.

The vault edition is kind of worth it financially if you play it regularly though.

On PC it’s 99 and the standard is 70 odd. The battle pass with 20 tier skips and the cod points you get total the difference so if you buy the battle pass each season it works out ok.

Just noticed i can't use the Krig C or the SAUG. It says it locked because of the battlepass, are these ***** locking weapons behind a paywall after shelling out top dollar for this game?

The free battle pass includes both weapons, the SUAG is unlocked first, the Krig later - you just have to play and they will unlock.
Paying extra gets you other items, paying extra again for Blackcell gets you those items as well:-

-Free = Earn 20+ free rewards, including cosmetic content and base weapons.
-Premium - 1100 cod points = earn up to 1,100 COD Points as you progress, and all Battle Pass rewards.
-Blackcell Bundle - 2400 cod points = inc. 20 tier skips and exclusive content.

gone off this a fair bit recently. Everyone seems to have bullets that make you explode into green goop or similar. Loads of stupid costumes. Guns seem to be more powerful (mine too), if someone saw you first had a chance now nope dead straight away.

Enjoyed first couple of weeks.. now :(

Well, I held off this based on reviews of it being "the worst cod ever" and having "terrible maps".
Bought it the other day and loving it, SBMM seems balanced, games are all really close won a couple and usually come around 3-5th place. Maps are fantastic and already worth the £70 IMO.

I agree with the green gloop and daft costumes but it'll be kids spending their parents money on this crap. Id much prefer it to be an adult game only with lifelike guns and operators.

Dunno, I like them. Favourite so far is Skyline. Looks fantastic and plays really well.

I do miss a 'Shipment' style map for the chaos.

Stakeout is the Shipment of this one. Its a face off / small map though so no kill streaks, and only in the 6v6 Face Off rotation. Plays horrendously, but if you want to farm kills its the quickest map.
