Call of Duty: Black Ops II

I probably should have said that I ordered the pc version, but I phoned them up and they told me that it definetly was dispatched on saturday this is due to the pc version unlocking on steam at midnight tonight so pc players that get it early will not be able to play it anyway.


This will be annoying if it comes in normal post as my posty doesn't come until 3:30pm
 
I can't believe they've bowed to the kids and made quick scoping easy. Plenty of times people have shot next to me and I've died.

Not so much the online game (you can play that from purchase of the game itself), but the downloadable content which comes later, which is a must really as no doubt the game will pester you to buy the additional content and kick you from servers playing said contents. They purposely make the online an otherwise difficult experience if you dont buy in to the whole DLC thing.
 
I'm having an argument with myself whether to go get this at Midnight, so many negative comments are making me think I should be more patient with Halo 4 and invest some time in to that.

That said - even if I buy this and dont like it, I've effectively had 4200 MS points for £20 if I sell the game for £30 odd. Win-Win really :)

Whaaaaaaat?! God damn those pesky postmen!

I played a few more games of kill confirmed and demolition tonight and quite enjoyed them, kc especially. I've found a good set up and kicked some bottom. Spawning is really had in kc. It can switch at any time. I've been stood waiting for a care package and they'll run out from next to me. Still a few bs deaths where bullets haven't registered also but I'm hoping this changes tomorrow when more brits get the game.

There's no easy way around that. on Crysis 2, the additional maps have a seperate lobby but it's very hard to get a game there because everyone just goes in the main lobby. On Bioshock 2, if anyone in a match doesn't have the DLC, then the newer maps aren't included in the rotation. There are people who play that game quite a lot and have never got to play some of the maps that they paid for because there are always people without the DLC.
 
Played an hour or so of MP and so far thoughts are:

Graphics are pretty poor but everything feels smooth so it's an okay trade off.
Hit detection seems on a par with BO1.
Lag compensation seems okay although still get shot around corners quite a lot.
Maps are not great so far for objective modes.
The new create a class is very customisable, almost too much, it's a shame a bit more isn't unlocked initially as having to unlock every minor item seems a bit overkill and means that early on you are at a real disadvantage unless you use the preset classes.
UAVs are up over half the time in games I've played so not having Ghost available until level 55 is a mistake IMO as it makes it almost impossible to play in a lone wolf style.
Spawning is not good, 4 times in a row I spawned and was shot within 1-2 seconds (twice by the same person).
SMGs seem to be the order of the day, MP7 in particular which has near-zero recoil.
Not come across many snipers yet and no QSing but it's early days!
I like the idea of scorestreaks but it's actually more confusing than killstreaks as it's not as clear when you're about to get the next one. This might just take some time to grow on me.

Overall I prefer it to MW3 at the moment but it's not anything to get too excited about and does play more like a BO expansion pack rather than bringing anything really new to the table.

The spawn system is utter turd in this game. It's just as bad as MW3.
I've lost count of the amount of times i've spawned next to/in front of/behind somebody. I played a game of FFA where I spawned right in front of somebody and got killed straight away,I then spawned just around the corner from the player who killed me and he ran around the corner and killed me again :mad:
And i've been put on probation already for rage quitting :o
