Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII

Played some Blackout. It's just another dull Battle Royale game with a COD skin.
I managed to get down to the last 2. I was on 66 health and got insta-killed by the other player. No indication at all that I'd been shot before I was dead. That's COD for ya :rolleyes:

I also understand that the CoD BR mode is included within £40 quid standard price, however I believe it should be "free" outside of the 40 quid purchase. That's the way the BR market has been driven to so far, so it will be interesting to see if the industry can bring it back from that current viewpoint

Yeah I always assumed if they find this to be popular, they will branch it off as a standalone later. However if it's well received they will sell loads at full price so it's hard to tell
 
Looks surprisingly polished.... I was maybe expecting frame-drops/downgrade of graphics. A polished version of PUGB.........interested......
 
I think from what I watched on twitch that they have compromised the visuals to maintain the 60fps and support the player count. It's not ugly but it doesn't look like a AAA 2018 game, visually. Understandable I guess

Is 60fps confirmed? I prefer that over visuals any day.
 
Played a couple of hours and very surprised. Looks really good, 60fps very smooth and well optimised. Best fun I’ve had in a game in a long time, still have the smile on my face!! Good job treyarch .

However, sound direction needs sorting and your own footsteps sound needs to be a bit quieter. Holding square to pick up rather than tapping square is annoying and slows the flow down of the game a bit. Attachments need to be a bit more intuitive and easier to attach to each weapon. Also switching nades/equipment could be a little easier.

Apart from that and a few tweaks here and there I’m really impressed. Didnt think they could pull this off but have done a grand job.

Must buy for me
 
Watched a stream on Twitch last night, it looks really good and really tempted me to pick Blops 4 up but failed. I just can't justify paying £45/£50 for one game mode, I won't play regular multiplayer, zombies or campaign so as good as it looked, it's not for me.
 
Played a few games last night, the map is boring as hell, the buildings are bland and have no character to them at all.

Gun play is nice though, and it feels like CoD, but on a larger scale. Shame the environment is so dull though.

I like the looting, and the equipping of things and the inventory is nice and snappy to use as well.

Also as strange as it sounds gun fights feel typically CoD like (which isn't out of the ordinary considering it's CoD after all) but the minute to minute battles feel like a CoD match, and not a BR match, if that makes sense.

I'm a little confused by how I actually feel about this game at the minute, maybe I need more time with it.

There's no campaign on this anyway... It's a purely multiplayer affair this time around...

I've redeemed a beta code on callofduty.com (for xbox) and my xbox account is linked - how do I actually participate?
 
I'm really enjoying Blackout, I think the map needs some work, there's a bit too much desert/rough terrain where people can blend into the surroundings. Some high rise buildings would be nice. I think they're onto a winner if they can dedicate time to it like Epic do with Fortnite.
