Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Does anyone else experience issues joining friends in-game? I receive their invites but when joining it just seems to hang on 'Joining game session'. Sooner or later having juggled the host around we are eventually all able to game together.

Out of three of us two are able to join one another without issue, for these two I sometimes appear offline, despite being in a party together. We all have open NAT types.

No issues joining party to chat etc. Unsure if this is a network issue or a COD issue?

Thanks.

Force-close the game and start again, happens to us all the time and that usually sorts it.

This might get lost in here, but I had a question, if someone can perhaps confirm / check for me.

Hardcore splitscreen? Getting an error saying "The area you are moving to does not allow split screen"

Surely this is possible?

They took away LOADS of modes possible to play in split screen in mw2. I bet it's the same. mw2 has only the option to play shipment, gunfight, the villa map playlist now in split screen. I also need the answer to your question before I consider buying it.

Starting to get to grip with Zombies a little bit now. Brutal learning curve for a noob but I'm figuring it out as I go. Its awfully complicated for what looks like a relatively simple game but I do like it.

Made some great progression this weekend playing zombies. Still a bit confused with the gun system and particularly insurance though.

Someone gave me a fully modded crossbow at the end of a round so I could extract with it. Now it sits in contraband and I can’t further mod that. I can equip it and levl it up but not insure it so if I don’t make it home it’s lost forever?
It unlocks the base version in the armoury which I’ll be able to mod as I level it up but i can always equip that version regardles?

Ive been using a base AR. Levelled it all the way up, got camo and a load of attachments for it. Now I can’t lose that now if I die can I? If it’s in the armoury I can just get another one?
So what is the point in insurance and in particular working to unlock 3 insurable spots? Clearly I’m missing something :D

I don’t play Zombies but I did watch the video someone posted earlier in this thread. My understanding is you can’t lose insured weapons, they do go onto cool-down after each run though. So I suppose unlocking more insured slots allows you more versatility and can carry on playing with a preferred loadout whilst another is waiting to cool down. As I understand it, ranking up your reputation brings cool-down benefits by reducing cool down time.

Contraband weapons are lost permanently if you fail to extract without them. Insured weapons cannot be permanently lost, but as above will have cool-down limitations.

Yep, I missed the last helicopter last night. Ended up dying in the cloud for the first time and it put my preferred weapon on cool down. Wondering what happens if you actually lose that one though? Do you think you just have to "find" or buy the base version out in the field to re-unlock it in your armoury? You can't lose your progression on that weapon though can you?

Had quite a bit of money on my Game account so thought I'd pick this up.

The SBMM when I first started out was absolutely wild. Rank 1 - first game was filled with 11 others, all rank 55! 2nd and 3rd games were all the same and took an absolute pasting. Still getting bundled in with high ranks but not as bad. Rank 8 now after half a dozen games - seem to be fairing a lot better now that I've unlocked the custom loadouts.

Does anyone have a quick idiots guide for zombies? Jumped in for a game last night and had no idea what the hell was going on.

Yeah there is basically zero information on it when you start. I feel others who have played Warzone have a basic idea but I went in completely green and had to learn from scratch. Really enjoying it now though and up to level 39 after the weekends XP boosting.

Gear up, dive in in a group of 3 and stick with them. You can go on your own but its hard at first. You have 45 minutes to do what you need to to and get out via exfill helicopter which you can see on your map with the little exit door icons. When the 45 is up it sets a 15 minute count down where the cloud starts creeping across the map. The zombies within it are super high level so if the cloud doesn't get you, they will.
Do contracts in tier 1 in order to get 5,000 essence. Once you get that much go to a pack a punch machine and upgrade your gun, then you'll be better suited to go into tier 2 where 10k essence gets you an upgrade. The better gear is in here too, 2 and 3 plate armour vests plus bigger backpacks.
Some contracts are easier than others, the ones with mercs are the harder ones. Other players will also be looking for the easy ones so get there first.
The gear you find and carry can be brought out with you upon successful exfil which includes the armour vests, backpacks, self revive kits and mods. Any gun you bring back with you will be unlocked form then on in your armoury for use across all forms of MP. If you die or miss the last chopper you lose the lot. Play around with the perks and the weapon upgrades and put them in your load out for each run. They are one time use and last the duration of that particular run so pop em as soon as you rope down.
It's pretty hectic at first but once you extract a few gun upgrades it gives you a leg up on your next run and then tier 1 becomes a bit of a cruise, allows you more time to orientate yourself and familiarise yourself with the mechanics.
