Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare / Warzone (Battlenet ID's in OP)

I'm playing with thermal optics at the moment. They are so OP I feel dirty.

The 3.5x merc thermal scope on my sniper is sweet.

Got the funky predator style thermal on my M4.

Just seems to be really helping in the mid ranges where I'm seeing things I would have missed because I'm old and blind! :p
 
Perhaps it's how eyesight works differently in different people. I have 20/20 vision but struggle with target acquisition when there isn't much contrast or difference in colour between the scenery and the target. This is somewhat lessened when they are at shorter ranges and moving.

In quake I always had bright green skins for enemy players for this reason! Pro mode Keel skin - big, fat, noisy and green! I need that it CoD! :p

I never use full sniper scopes as I only play MW on 6v6 rotations. Too much time to ADS and have less situational awarenessmos.

Most of the maps on MW dont need anything over 3.5x anyway. Maybe in the bigger maps for 10v10 TDM or groundwar / warzone full sniper scopes would come into their own. I can certainly see there would be benefits of the variable zoom version.

But 6v6 on MW - meh not needed.

Out of interest, what FOV is everyone playing on?
 
So I played a bit on console last night and today. Observations are the lobbies are far quicker to find. Straight into a full lobby after every match on ps4.

On PC it's taking ages and often matches are in a bad ping lobby too. Not sure why, probably because I only play TDM.

On the downside on the ps4 - oh my days coming from PC, console FOV is shocking. Really terrible.

I really hope on next get we get FOV sliders!

I never have problems finding games - Warzone or normal multiplayer.
What’s the fov on ps4? I think mine is default 80 on 3440x1440

I dont get that, it just finds a game straight away and people populate then it loads.
Im using 80 FOV at 3440x1440, 100 just seems strange and like a fish eye lens with the image sort of appearing to warp. You do get greater fov but it looks horrible to my eyes

I think it's a competitive edge type thing, like dialling all details down as low as they go for FPS rather than graphical fidelity. I used to run FOV at 110-120 in Q3 or Enemy Territory because it gives you far better spacial awareness at the cost of being able to see miles into the distance. It looks like ass, but it does give a slight edge against your opponents. I haven't tried above 100 in Warzone though.

What game modes are you playing. I literally only play 6v6 TDM.

But that's also all I play on PS4 too. My NAT type keeps changing between open and moderate too, without any input from me. Not sure what causes that.

Could it be SBMM? My performance varies wildly between matches and I'm using the same account on PC as I am on PS4. Some matches I am just messing around or exploring different attachments or tactics. So my kd varies from 0.5 up to about 2.5 with kills varying from 2-20. Not sure if that up and down profile would cause issues with SBMM?

I dont know what is causing it but I do know I rarely find a lobby before its searching for matches <75ms. A few times on friday night I was in lobbies where I had 150 ping! So it seems there is possibly an issue with routing. I should also note it's only really been an issue since recent updates and it is exclusively only affecting my game on PC.

Domination, 10v10 moshpit, search & destroy, headquarters (all hardcore) and Warzone
 
Reading around it, it may be my troubles finding a game are because my NAT has changed to moderate. It used to be open.

I have tried all port forwarding solutions, reset firewall, flushed DNS etc etc but its locked to moderate.

Any ideas?

EDIT, I wont be using a DMZ for obvious reasons, so that's not a suggestion I am going to follow, sorry!
