Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare / Warzone (Battlenet ID's in OP)

I would just try it with and without. Start the campagne, watch fps at a static point right at the start then turn it on.
Let me know what the hit is

I tend to play WZ tbh. I have it off now but I can't really notice much of a difference? Out of curiosity what are the best settings to use on this game with a 1080ti @ 1440p? Interesting to know which settings kill fps and have little bearing! I'm probably going to upgrade to a Ryzen 4000 system this year or early next year, not sure if my 4790k is hindering me these days. Is this game CPU heavy?

I dont play it at all, just used it for checking fps instad of multiplayer/Warzone.
Ray tracing, resolution and resolution scaling.
I have a [email protected], playing a few hours it doesnt go above 80% with my overlocked 2080Ti. Can't see the point of Ryzen for gaming, unless the game is highly CPU intensive, which COD is not

It's my weapon of choice. Really early on I got a legendary XRK version of it from somewhere and it kicks ass with a couple of tweaks. It's good at most ranges, it handles well and with the special barrel shroud it's very quiet too. Apparently it was a pre order bonus only, but I never pre ordered. In fact I was late to the party so I have no idea how I got it. Love it though.

Edit - just read somewhere all you need to do is buy a digital copy of the game to get the XRK. That must be how I got it.
Had a look at my XRK mod. It looks like I too unlocked the XRK M4 early on somehow, the gold one.

I modded it by swapping the Tac laser for SOCOM rounds and Integral Hybrid scope for Cronen C480 Pro

Anyone know any good guides for hitting gold on launchers & shield? seen a few different one's andthey don't always agree on the best way to go about it. Cheers.

I lucked out on the shield and combat knife. Shipment 10v10 playlist was on for a day or weekend and I just played that for maybe 2 evenings and got it gold. It’s tricky at first but you’ll get used to how to play with it. You have to be a bit opportunistic and catch people off guard and/or flank them.

The Launchers I found the hardest class to get platinum particularly the JOKR. I went RPG > Strela > PILA > JOKR. RPG and Strela are both free fire and hitting UAVs with the RPG I found neigh on impossible. Focus on hitting the Personal UAV, Counter UAV and the VTOL as all of those 3 count for arial kill streaks as well as ground kill streaks and vehicles. Make sure every class has an Launcher as a secondary item and take the munitions box as your field upgrade so you can get more ammo. Play objective types, domination and hardpoint are both brilliant for this and you can get the Attacking/Defending kills (the JOKR was easy for this one as you can just aim at the objectives and often get quad kills) relatively easy.

the lame part with the JOKR is that it takes so long to hit the target between shots that if anyone else is doing the same with another launcher, you’ll probably lose out to them being quicker. You’ll need to be looking up as soon as the announcer says something is inbound. With the VTOL jets good practice is to shoot at the jet with your primary until it’s smoking then use the RPG/Strela or PILA (in free fire mode) to finish it off whilst only using one rocket. With the JOKR, fire your two shots and then shoot at the jet until the second one hit.

good luck, I don’t envy you having to do that again at all!

I tried those but I'm crap and not accurate enough so I end up out of ammo at crucial moments. I panic and then try and shoot with an empty gun then press the wrong buttons, jump crouch jump, flashbang and then start opening my munitions box then die!

Bugger, all I was trying to do was swap to my secondary :p
You must have the same issues that I have. I blame Russian/Chinese hackers polluting my drinking water and causing me to have uncontrollable spasms when approached by an enemy player.

Cheers for the tips Junglist :) I did previously manage to gold the knife on the 10v10 shipment (utter chaos) and do have a fair bit of the shield done but the main one I stuggle with in the shield is the skulls camo where you need 3 kills per life. Been playing in hardcore mode just to 1-hit-kill the enemies but its amazingly frustrating, especially when your own team TK's you almost as much as the enemy :D I'll give the RPG a hammering today and see what comes of it. When I have used it it's mostly been against other players so i'll see where it goes. Cheers.

Yeah those 3 kills are the worst. That's all I have left with the Crossbow (thank god it wasn't needed for Damascus) but I don't want to inflict that level of pain on myself.

If you can, just grind shipment for the shield as at least it's close and you can catch people off guard. Yeah sometimes you get matched with people who seem intent on team killing. I get that in HC TK is a bit unavoidable at times but I swear when I was going for the skull challenges I seemed to be a bullet magnet for my own team!

The launchers were definitely the hardest of the classes to complete. I'd say leave the RPG for last and work on the JOKR just for your own sanity as at least the RPG is fun to use! The JOKR will get you killed more often than not as you look up to the sky to lock on to something which takes eternity.

Texture resolution - VRAM dependent, little to no FPS impact. High will be fine.
Texture filter - little to no FPS impact. High will be fine.
Partical quality - try Low. Again in actual gameplay the difference is pretty small, you're only going to notice the difference when examining screenshots / videos.
Bullet impacts and Sprays - enabled, little to no FPS impact.
Tessellation: Small FPS impact, can cause dips on lower end systems when the scene changes - entering a new building or leaving one for example.
Shadow resolution - try high or normal. The differences are pretty small when in actual gameplay vs the FPS cost.
Cache Spot Shadows / Sun shadows - enabled can help keep things smooth if you have a lot of VRAM.
Raytracing - off for performance, extremely high FPS hit when enabled.
Ambient Occlusion - off for performance, reasonably high FPS hit when enabled.
Screen Space Reflection - off for performance, reasonably high FPS hit when enabled.
AA: Off for best performance but looks like ****, one of the SMAA T2X options is worth the FPS hit.

Everything else is preference. What works for you will be a mix, its really up to you how much visual stuff you want to turn down for more frames.

Thanks, very informative post :)

Cheers i'll do that. I had same thing with the team, i think it was more a reflex on seeing a shield to open fire before they realise he's on their team. :D

Just had a few goes trying to grab a few for the shield and had no luck until it went to shoothouse and a very nice guy saw me struggling and decided to park himself in front of me and let me kill him a good few times, which was the only time I have ever seen a player on the other side help out an enemy player  (shout out to you Davide167) so that was nice. But i suspect that won't happen again for a long time haha. Anyway i'll persevere and get it done eventualy.

Anyone having really bad fps drops when zooming using a variable sniper scope? My FPS will tank just as I'm entering the zoom and stutter like mad, not sure if this is a recent issue as I don't recall it happening before!

I am constantly having this developer 6068 error now and crashes. Anybody found a fix? I did turn on ray tracing, that is the only change I have made to the game in months. Never bothered with it on before.

I've recently started getting it again, there is no 'fix' that I've found, a tonne of alternatives to try but yea, I've never found a solid fix.

Also, is it me or did they increase time to kill in standard modes? I feel like I need to hold a little longer on the trigger to kill. It's weird.

Just GPU but that has been since last August 19. I tuned ray tracing off and so far no crashes since last post. That is all I can think that had changed. I have not used RT since I got the game in December. But since I turned it on I seemed to have this problem. I will see if it happens with RT off, if it does not I will set GPU to default clocks and turn on RT to see what happens.

One of the reasons this game is great is than you can level up weapons all you want as I have been, then in a random Battle Royale lobby I picked up a RAM 7 with whatever mods and killed about 5 people in 20 seconds.
Now i'm playing with a RAM7, Shoothouse I came first with a 12 kill steak and it was ripping through people. I played a round of BR with it and did really well... then later on I tried and played shocking with it getting something like 1 kill and 20 deaths :D

Maybe all the guns are great, it's just how you play at the time with xyz loadout/weapon

It's the main reason I prefer Hardcore modes. All the guns are viable as the difference in TTK is quite minimal (though the standout guns are the heavy hitting ARs which can drop in one bullet - M4A1+Socom rounds, FAL, ODEN, AK47 and SCAR)

Agreed. It is fun racing around with the Uzi though with double time and dead silence enabled :)
There should really be a hardcore version of Warzone. No hud, reduced armour slots

I may have to give the Uzi another go as people love it yet it was one of my least favourite guns!
Feel a bit bored now as I was enjoying the gun challenges but I've done every gun now including the post launch guns and I guess I was addicted to the chase! May try and get my Striker in Obsidian as it's quite close already
