Hope with the PvE zombie DMZ gameplay there's things like protect/escort hostage missions etc.

A whole group of my friends are turned off by the PvP aspect of DMZ, but a well done zombie DMZ PvE mode might interest them. Still hoping for simple a PvE DMZ mode with all progress/weapons fenced off.

Really? You havent mentioned it. DMZ without PVP would be such a boring experience. If you want to Loot and shoot PVE experience get Borderlands, Division etc. Enough co-op games out there to keep you going. This game will never be one of them.

"DMZ without PVP would be such a boring experience" - I bow to your singular gold standard universal laser like understanding of what people must enjoy while gaming. :)

Again, I have a group of friends who detest PvP. But I'm certain they'd enjoy the atmosphere and style of a DMZ experience. And they would pay for such a fenced off option. Hopefully the new zombie mode will offer something akin to it.

Yes it would as it offers nothing as a single player experience, very poor AI, rubbish missions poor game play very little atmopshere. I mean whats the point of extracting if you have no way to die. You are looking at the wrong game. You and your crew should be playing and looking into things like Division as I said its a great a looter shooter with a much better PVE and co-op experience.

This clearly isnt the game for you and your friends as all you do is moan at least once every page about PVE being so big and mean. Either get better or play something else as PVE isnt going to be a thing its not what brings the dollars in bro.

Again, I bow to your greater understanding of our (myself and my friends) enjoyment of the games we play, than us.

Of course some folks might suggest you might concede some folks enjoy different aspects of games to you, but with you clearly being such a shining beacon of perfection that would be obsurd.

Its all good I'll leave you to have your weekly cry shouting into the void. I was just trying to point out that the experience you and your friends crave is already out there and in a much better package that what COD's DMZ gives you. Once you take out the PVE element the expeience would be pretty shallow.

It is indeed all good ;)

Games like Borderlands (1 & 2) and the Division, which you recommended, we have tried and found lacking. The only game we've found solid enough recently is Sandstorm Insurgency (in PvE mode) where I've even got a dedicated server etc.

Now onto DMZ - I enjoy DMZ, finding the PvP aspect of it basically tolerable, but I know the group of friends I'm referring to would love it in a dedicated PvE guise and would absolutely detest the frantic PvP. I do not believe they would find a PvE variant of it shallow and I'm fairly certain they'd likely enjoy it enough to even pay for it if necessary (which is more than I've done so far with existing Modern Warfare DMZ ;)).

Anyway, you're almost certainly right a PvE mode of the DMZ will not happen - even though it would be fairly straight forward to add - but hopefully the future zombie mode will be a good alternative...

Once the new game comes out, I hope it's like Warzone 1 as Warzone 2/DMZ/Battle Royal never felt right to me! Always felt, clunky?

Being fairly new to all this, I'm confused - So Called of Duty Modern Warfare 2 came out less than a year ago (Sep 2022?) and the current DMZ mode for it etc is still in beta... But now we have replacements for it all on the way in a few months? Huh?

I've not played COD since January so decided to load it up.

Apologies if it's already been asked but what the fudge is going on with performance on this?

I like playing Invasion and Sattiq Cave and Rohan Oilfields is an absolute stuttery mess. The original maps are buttery smooth, so don't think the issue is with my rig (5800X3D, 3070ti, 32GB RAM).

No new MP maps at launch paying for what we paid for again!

Everyone going to get sick of them asap nostalgia will be good for only a little while.
I'm 50/50 on it.

Some of the 'new' maps released recently have been pretty appalling. MW2019 had about 3 good maps - so I'm not too bothered by us getting older maps as they're all good. Original MW2 had some great maps, Sub Base, Invasion, Favela etc. are all fantastic and leagues better than what we've got recently.

Although it sounds like they're adding doors to all of the maps... What is the obsession with doors in recent COD games?!

There's no CoD modding community anymore for later games, so where does the talent come from for making maps etc.
In CoD4 there are masses of custom maps - just as an example; Docks & Docks Night by Paulo 88 - Paulo was later hired by Treyarch and he's still there.
Look how many times they've reused maps from MW, MW2, Black Ops - even in this version of MW2, Taraq is Neuville from CoD 1 and Farm 18 has Pavlov's house in it.

Easy money for them really as a fair chunk of the grinding player base just whinge that there is no shipment. Then a lot of players want old maps for nostalgia reasons and here we are. Same regurgitated stuff nearly every game.

Can't workout if I'm alone in thinking this but Shipment is pretty terrible.

Fine if you want to just purely grind weapon camos etc. but it's just such a terrible way to play the game. I liked when we had Shipment in COD4 and Rust in MW2 - because it was the occasional game where they would show up and it'd be a nice mayhem filled game.

You'd be queueing up for TDM or Dom, play a few regular maps like Crash or Backlot - then suddenly Shipment! I was glad they had the same approach in MWR (2 min video below of just happening across a shipment lobby in MWR) - but I really think the 24/7 Shipment playlists just encourage all the wrong things in COD (I'm aware this sounds like old man shouts at cloud...).

I usually jump in if I want some brainless gaming or to do some challenges I wanted to complete.
Some social media sites are wild with people not being happy when it gets pulled from rotation.
I'm quite happy playing Gunfight most of the time. Everyone has the same guns, Then its pretty much down to skill.
